Is your child a rising 3rd, 4th, or 5th grader at O'Hara Elementary who loves all things art? Do they want to leave a lasting mark on O'Hara? Are they excited about the new mural coming to O'Hara's common area this summer?
If so, they’re the perfect fit for the Artist Residency Project - O'Hara Summer Mural Camp led by Artist Alison Zapata this June, with support from Pittsburgh Center for Arts and Media and the PA Council on the Arts!
This camp has three different sessions. If you want to attend all three camps, you must sign up for each session. Spots are limited, and registration is first-come, first-served. There is a registration fee for each week.
Session 1: Mural Design Week, June 9th - 11th, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm: Campers come together with Alison to create the concept and design of the mural.
Session 2: Mural Painting Camp Week June 23rd - June 27th, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm: Get ready to paint with Alison! Students will help with all aspects of painting the mural.
Session 3: Mural Fillers and Finishers Parent Week June 30th - July 3rd, 9:00 am- 12:00 pm: Parents, you can join your student and help us complete the mural!
We will reveal the mural at our annual Back to School Social on August 19th!
If the registration fee is cost-prohibitive, please reach out to our school guidance counselor, Jennifer Squeglia, at Jennifer_Squeglia@fcasd.edu.
If your student is no longer able to attend the camp, please let us know so we can allow another student the opportunity to sign up.
No refunds will be issued if your student's registration is cancelled one week before each camp.
This form will be available at 7:00 AM on April 15, 2025.
