  • We are thrilled to welcome you to Camp Med-o-lark! Please complete this form by May 1. Please have ready: 

    • Travel information (e.g. flight or bus information)

    • Banking information (if you are based in the USA) 

    This form will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

    This section outlines key responsibilities and expectations for staff members at Camp Med-o-lark. Please read each statement carefully and select the appropriate response to confirm your understanding. If you have any questions about these policies, please write to us at info@medolark.com no later than May 1. 

  • ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    I am responsible for ensuring the safety, supervision, and well-being of campers.

    I will follow all training provided during orientation and act as a positive role model at all times.

    I will support the camp philosophy and policies, even if my personal views differ.

    I will enforce camper behavior expectations and report violations to the appropriate supervisor.

  • HEALTH & SAFETY

    I will report any safety concerns, incidents, or camper health issues immediately to my supervisor or the Health Center.

    I will monitor campers' hygiene, ensure they take required medications, and promote a clean, safe cabin environment.

    I will never leave campers unsupervised and will follow emergency protocols as outlined during staff training.

  • CODE OF CONDUCT & PROFESSIONALISM

    I will maintain professional behavior at all times, including appropriate language, dress, and interactions with campers and colleagues.

    I understand that PDA (public displays of affection) with other staff is not appropriate in the camp setting.

    Bullying, discrimination, and inappropriate language will not be tolerated.

    Cell phones and personal electronics may only be used during off-hours and never in front of campers.

    I will shut down any camper conversations about sex, drugs, alcohol, violence, or tobbaco. I will never speak to campers about such topics. 

  • CAMP PROPERTY & PERSONAL PROPERTY

    I will respect camp property, wildlife, and all living things at Camp Med-o-lark.

    I will not bring prohibited items such as pets, weapons, or personal sound systems to camp.

    I will store personal valuables securely and understand that camp is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

    I will follow the camp's environmental policies by keeping areas clean and disposing of waste properly.

    I will keep my cell phone out of sight of campers, out of my cabin and away from other counselors, staff and CITs.

  • LEAVING CAMP & TIME OFF

    I understand that I must sign out if I leave camp during my time off.

    I will not leave camp property while on duty unless given permission by a Director.

    I will follow camp policies regarding staff transportation and approved departure times.

    I understand I will have two nights off per week. Nights off begin at 7:30pm, after campers have had dinner and are escorted to evening activity. 

    I understand I am responsible for waking up with my cabin every morning. 

     

  • DRUGS & ALCOHOL

    I understand that alcohol, illegal drugs (including marijuana), and tobacco products are strictly prohibited on camp property, including the staff cabin. I understand that violating this policy will result in immediate termination and may be reported to the appropriate legal authorities.

    I understand that purchasing alcohol or drugs on behalf of anyone will be reported to legal authorities.

     

  • PRIVACY 
    I understand that taking photos inside camper cabins is strictly prohibited.

    I will only take photos of campers if I have received prior approval from a director.

  • Part 3: Getting to Camp

  • FLYING INTO PORTLAND OR AUGUSTA

    Be sure your flight arrives by 1 PM on June 17 to ensure you can reach camp on time.

    We wil pick you up in Portland or Augusta.

    If flying into Portland, ensure you are flying into Portland, ME (PWM)! 

     

  • FLYING INTO BOSTON OR NEW YORK 

    BOS: If you are flying into Boston, plan to arrive in Boston by 11AM on June 17th and take a bus to Augusta. Concord Coach is located 10 minutes from Boston Logan airport. Boston is 3+ hours from camp and the bus is approx $46 USD. 

    NY: If you are flying into New York, we recommend you book a connecting flight to Portland. If you'd prefer to take a bus, please plan to arrive in New York on June 17th by 9am and take a bus to Augusta or Portland. New York is 6+ hours from camp. You can find bus options via Greyhound or Concord Coach.

  • TAKING A BUS

    If taking a bus to Maine, please book your bus to Augusta, ME. Your bus should arrive by 4 PM on June 17 at the latest. Check out Concord Coach and Greyhound for bus options. If you can only take a bus to Portland, please indicate below. 

  • Section 4: Direct Deposit Information

    Let's get you paid! Please take a moment to review our staff info page about payment information.

    If you are a JC, please skip this information. You will be paid at the end of the summer.

     

  • No US Bank Account

    Great news! We make it easy for you to get paid by loading up your pay on a debit card, which we issue to you at the start of camp. This means you won't need to open a US bank account. With this debit card, you'll be able to:

    • Make online purchases
    • Make in-person purchases around the US
    • Transfer money back home or to your home bank account (note: there are some fees associated with this, just like with any international transfer)

    When you arrive at camp, we will support you in getting a US social security number and completing the necessary paperwork to get paid. 

  • US Bank Account

    Yay! Let's get you paid! Every 2 weeks, we will directly deposit your pay into your bank account. To get paid, follow these two steps:

    1. Please complete the remainder of this form, entering your bank account details. Be sure to double check the bank information when you enter it below.

    2. Please also complete a W4 form and return it to Brendan@medolark.com subj line: W4 - Your Full Name.
