DIY NIGHTS (£100)

Are you tired of waiting around for someone else to give you permission to perform? Make it happen yourself!

DIY Nights are CDS’s new performance programme created in the spirit of grassroots, low stakes performance making and sharing:

Anyone can apply to run a DIY Night
CDS programmes DIY Nights on a rolling basis (this is a very light touch curation process, and we are open to all art forms and ideas so long as they follow our accountable space principles).
We charge you a hire fee for the space (£100) and sell tickets for you via Eventbrite.
You are in charge of marketing your show, running the box-office, and tech on the day.
It’s that simple!

It’s important to note that CDS does NOT take a cut of ticket sales.

This a great opportunity to split a bill with another artist to share a work in progress, to test out a variety night with a group of artists, it’s all up to you!

WHAT’S INCLUDED:

You will have access to our Performance Studio for 3 hours from 18:00-21:00.
This package is only available on Friday evenings.
Tickets will be sold on CDS’s Eventbrite page.
- Ticket Prices are set at £8/£10/£12 Pay-What-You-Can model.
- There are a maximum of 40 tickets available.
You will have access to the following tech resources (You will receive PDF instructions for how to access and operate these resources.)
- Sound (via aux cable with phone adapters available)
- LED Lighting (with preset lighting states controlled via an IPad).
- Projector and Screen (connected via an HDMI cable)
- 1 corded microphone
You must arrive by 17:30 for an induction with a member of the CDS team, and you can enter the space from 18:00.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

You do NOT have access to our tech booth or any resources beyond those listed above, even if you bring a technician with you.
You are solely responsible for selling tickets, marketing and promoting your night.
You must leave the Studio and Lounge in the same condition in which you found it - this includes resetting any furniture, and tidying up any mess that was made.
If any items are broken by you or your team, you accept responsibility for paying for a replacement of the same type and quality.
If our staff find you to have contravened any of these rules, you accept liability for paying a fine up to £30 and you may not be allowed to hire space at CDS in the future. The decision on whether these rules have been broken is at the discretion of CDS Staff.
You are responsible for all Front of House, Box Office, and other duties including marketing your show. You will have independent access to the space, and a staff member may not be present.
