Dear Parents,
We are excited for the Senior Spring Shabbaton on May 9th-10th. Please read the following important information carefully to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
Shabbaton Location:
The Shabbaton will be held in the Cheswolde neighborhood with home hospitality. The girls will be sleeping at local homes and walking to nearby locations for services, meals, and activities.
Shabbaton Arrival and Departure:
The Shabbaton will begin at 6:15 pm on Friday. Please arrive promptly. The Shabbaton will end on Saturday evening at 10:15 pm.
You will receive an email closer to the Shabbaton with the drop-off and pick up locations.
Safety:
Safety is of utmost importance to us. We have an one to one ratio of staff to participant, and there will be adequate adult supervision at all times. The girls will be split up at different houses for sleeping. We will be walking to Synagogue and nearby locations for meals and activities.
Packing:
When packing for the Shabbaton, please keep in mind that Shabbat is a holy day. Therefore, we kindly request that all attendees dress in formal clothing to honor the Shabbat.
We strongly suggest that participants do not bring any valuable items that may get lost during the Shabbaton.
All girls should bring the following items:
• Pajamas
• A full change of clothing for Saturday
• A lot of JEP spirit!
Food:
JEP has a no outside food policy. The girls will be provided with delicious meals and snacks throughout the Shabbaton. If your daughter has any food restrictions or dietary concerns, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can accommodate her.
We will be providing plenty of snacks at the Shabbaton and request that participants do not bring any food with them. If you have any concerns about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Medicine:
Any medicine that is brought to the Shabbaton must be handed in upon arrival and should be sent in its original bottle. We will ensure that anyone who is on medication will receive it at the proper time. Please do not send any Advil, Tylenol, etc… We will have a complete first aid kit and will dispense medicine if necessary. Please make sure to inform us of any medical needs that your child may have.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached by email at mnelkin@jepgirls.org or by phone at 410-419-5899.
Looking forward to an amazing Shabbaton!
