  •  Campus Ministry Seminary Scholarship

    Scholarship Award: The fund will award the selected recipient a $2,500 scholarship which may be renewed two times so long as the student maintains at least a 3.0 grade point average. If a qualified applicant cannot be found in a given year, an award will not be given.

    Eligibility Criteria

    To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must be:

    1. A current or former Grand Valley State University Campus Ministry staff member, student intern, or student leader.

    2. Enrolling at any Protestant seminary within one year of the application deadline.

    Selection Criteria

    Recipients of this scholarship will be selected based on the following criteria, listed in order of importance:

    1. Essay response (no more than 500 words) to the following question regarding calling: Why are you planning to continue your education at a Protestant seminary?

    2. Short essay responses (200 words or less per question) to the following questions regarding your basic beliefs:

         a. Who is God?

         b. What is the role of the Scriptures?

         c. What do you understand to be the mission of Jesus?

    3. Leadership ability and record of activities

    4. A letter of recommendation

    5. Community and campus engagement

    6. Financial need

     Application

    Applications must be submitted online on or before May 31.

    A letter of recommendation must be emailed to stimmerman@cfhz.org on or before June 7.

    No other electronic or paper submissions will be accepted.

    Are you related to a member of the Foundation's Scholarship Selection Committee?

  • 1. Immediate family members of scholarship selection committee members are not eligible to receive grants from a Section 4966 scholarship fund. An immediate family member is defined as a parent; sibling; child by blood, adoption, or marriage; spouse; grandparent or grandchild.

    2. Scholarship applications must be submitted online. No other electronic or paper submissions will be accepted.

    3. The application information you provide will be reviewed by Foundation staff and shared with members of the Foundation's selection committee, including donors and fund representives who serve as guest reviewers.

    4. The Foundation will contact award winners at the home address provided.

    5. Winners must return acceptance paperwork as specified by the Foundation.

    6. Scholarships are intended for use starting in the fall semester of the year during which they are announced. Scholarship acceptance may be delayed until December 31 with notification to the Foundation prior to the commencement of the fall semester. Unaccepted scholarships shall be forfeited after the December 31 deadline except as approved by the Foundation.
