Applications for Student Observers at the SSBC National Finals

AISC is offering a special opportunity for up to 10 teams that did not advance to the national finals. Randomly selected teams will receive up to $1,000 to cover travel expenses for next year’s SSBC team captain (or a designated team member) to attend the 2026 SSBC National Finals as an observer.

In order to be eligible for the travel reimbursement, you must attend the national finals May 22 and May 23 at the University of Texas at El Paso and volunteer as a bridge marshal during the main competition to help escort bridges through the construction and loading sequence. Upon your return, we will also request you to submit a one page summary of your experience including what you learned and how you will incorporate it into next year’s bridge.

Applications are due by Wednesday, April 29. Up to 10 teams will be randomly selected, with results announced by Friday, May 1.

Note that this opportunity is currently only available to U.S.-based teams.
