New Service Unit Director: Participants will receive a handbook and resources to support this role. The presenters will walk you through these resources and share ideas on how to build a team, hosting successful service unit meetings, quarterly planning with your Area Executive and service unit team, planning a budget, and communicating with the volunteers in your service unit.
Returning Service Unit Director: In this learning experience Service Unit Directors will have the opportunity to connect with each other and learn about resources. This class will feature a panel discussion on the President's Award.
Troop Development Coordinator: Participants will receive a handbook and resources to support your role. The presenters will share best practices on how to effectively recruit and support school liaisons, host strategic recruitment events, and follow up with leads while connecting girls with troops.
Product Program Coordinator: Join the Product Programs team for a session that talks about the upcoming program season for both Treats & Keeps and the Girl Scout Cookie Program. We’ll review upcoming dates, program highlights, engaging girls and volunteers, changes for the new year and much more.
Troop Leader Coach: The presenter will review the processes, tools and resources available to help Troop Leader Coaches (Troop Mentors) as they guide new (and not so new!) volunteers in sharing the Girl Scout Leadership Experience with their troops.
Culture of Philanthropy: How to Keep Building our Culture of Philanthropy– did you know only 1.8% of all philanthropic gifts go to women and girl’s organizations? As Girl Scouts how do we elevate our voices to collectively show that WE DESERVE MORE. With tools for all service unit volunteers, we can enhance and amplify our collective impact to keep building our case for philanthropic support.
Events: This class will share ideas on celebrating Girl Scout traditions and events for girls by girls. The class will also touch on completing the required paperwork and obtaining approval through GSGATL Risk Management to make sure your event is safe and insured.

Annual Meeting: The governing body meeting to review GSGATL performance, key issues, and vote as needed. A designated delegate from each service unit is requested to attend and vote on behalf of the service unit. Members may also attend to observe.
2:00 pm - 4:30 pm: Training Sessions

School Liaison: This session is for anyone interested in supporting the recruitment and retention of Girl Scout members through connections with a local school.
Treasurer: The Service Unit Treasurer role is more than just managing the service unit account. Learn how to find the resources needed to develop a service unit budget, track income and expenses and reporting to the service unit members and GSGATL. You will also learn about Cheddar Up and how to support Troop Leaders and volunteers with troop finances and reporting.
Recognitions: This class is all about recognizing adult volunteers. Learn about the awards offered through GSUSA and GSGATL, as well as some simple and fun activities you can do at monthly service unit meetings and end of year celebrations for adult volunteers.
High Awards: At the High Awards workshop, you’ll have an opportunity to understand why earning a High Award, at any level, is an important step for a Girl Scout. Gain a clearer understanding of the requirements to earn Bronze, Silver, and Gold, as well as the steps to take for each project. We will look closely at examples of community service, and how to make it an effective Take-Action project at each award level. Understand how you can support girls earning Bronze, Silver, and Gold in your Service Unit. Learn about our 2024 Gold Award Girl Scouts and our Bronze, Silver, and Gold Council Young Women of Distinction.
Looker: This class is for Service Unit Directors, Troop Development Coordinators, and Product Program Coordinators. Bring a laptop for this interactive workshop to learn how to access the membership data for your service unit. The data team will explain how to use this valuable resource, and a panel of volunteers will share best practices.
Camp and Risk Management: Join the council's Camp team to learn about the three camp properties and the programs offered including: 3 seasons events, troop camping, service unit camporees, and summer camp. Camp will also touch on volunteer service unit day camps that are supported by the camp team. Camp will cover registration, pricing, training requirements, and resources. The Risk Mangement Team will talk about contracts, insurance liability, and accident and incident reporting. They will also touch on updates to the Safety Activity Checkpoints manual. Talk through the new Council Activity Approval application process, and review the requirements to make each activity safe, fun, and successful!
