This year we’d like to explore vision - the beauty of truly seeing. It is when you see me and I see you, that division fades and we find connection. It is when we see division before connection that we need healing. We are looking for creative expressions that communicate that task of healing our vision and division.
Calling all artists!
Williamsburg Christian Church is calling all artists to submit original works of art for display in the annual Blessed are the PeaceMAKERS art exhibition on May 23, 2025. This year’s theme spotlights the difficult task of healing division through healing our vision (to truly see one another and our connected reality). We invite artists who work in all mediums to propose works that address “What does peaceMAKING mean to you?” or “What does the life and work of healing division look like in the world?”
All submissions must be accompanied by the artist’s written statement on how their art piece depicts peaceMAKING.
About the exhibit:
Blessed are the Peacemakers is Williamsburg Christian Church’s annual art show that explores how creativity and beauty can promote healing in a broken world. Previous events focused on specific themes like racial healing, gun violence, or mental health. This year, the theme is focuses on vision acknowledging the need to truly see one another for healing to happen.
This is more than an art show. This will be an evening of community, conversations, and creative expression all centered around a theme of peaceMAKING. All artwork will be on display during an open house gallery and evening of creative expression from 5pm-8pm on May 23.

Important Dates:
- Call for Entries Open 3/30
- Deadline for submissions in - 5/16.
- Drop off artwork at WCC Sunday 5/18 1pm to 6pm, 5/19 8am-7pm
Blessed are the Peacemakers event Friday 5/23 5:30pm-9pm
Other Important Details:
- Not all art submission will be accepted. All decisions of the curators are final.
- Art must promote the theme of peaceMAKING.
- Artist are responsible for delivering and retrieving artwork during designated times.
- Submitting your entry authorizes WCC to publish (print, web, social medias) your images for purposes of exhibition/show publicity. All artist credits will be included.
