  • The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program is a national initiative that educates volunteers about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills. These skills include fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. The program aims to prepare communities to handle emergencies effectively until professional responders can arrive

Teen CERT is a specialized branch of the CERT program designed for teenagers. It empowers young people to protect themselves, their families, and their communities in case of a disaster. Teen CERT participants learn critical skills such as putting out small fires, conducting light search and rescue, and providing medical assistance

They also engage in activities like organizing volunteers, assisting in evacuations, and supporting shelter operations during emergencies.

Both programs emphasize the importance of community involvement and preparedness, ensuring that volunteers are ready to step up and help when needed most. They also engage in activities like organizing volunteers, assisting in evacuations, and supporting shelter operations during emergencies.
