  • RULES:  All AERC rules apply.  This is a family-friendly and inclusive event open to all.  All are welcome!  Please note that unkind, disrespectful, rude or mean behavior directed to any person involved in our ride will not be tolerated and will result in immediate disqualification. We are all here to enjoy this wonderful sport!

    Your 35 & 50-mile entry includes one meal, AERC sanctioning fee, completion award, state drug test fee, and routine veterinary exams before and during the ride. Ride rules will be posted in camp. Should a horse require special or emergency treatment, those arrangements and payment are the responsibility of the rider and will be handled individually by the attending treatment veterinarian.

    Dogs are allowed in camp if on a six-foot leash at all times. No dogs are allowed in the vet check or dinner areas, period. Open fires are not permitted. Those who bring extra horses (horses not participating in the ride) must pay a fee of $5 per horse per day. Ride management is responsible for a per-horse fee paid to Orick Rodeo Grounds. All riders and volunteers must complete and sign the general release on the rider entry form.

    SANCTIONING: This ride is sanctioned by AERC.

    VETS: HEAD VET is DAN CHAPMAN, DVM.

    START TIMES: 06:00 for the 50 MILE and 08:00 for the 35 MILE for Saturday & Sunday.

    AWARDS: Completion awards will be given to all finishers of both distances, each day.  First Place, Best Condition and High Vet Score awards will be given for the 35 and 50-mile events.

    DISEASE  CONTROL POLICY:
    When coming to a REER ride, it is your responsibility to NOTIFY RIDE MANAGEMENT IMMEDIATELY if you know of any travel or disease quarantine restrictions IN YOUR AREA such as, including but not limited to, vesicular stomatitis, equine herpesvirus, influenza, etc... You may be denied entry to the ride or you may be required to have a current health certificate. For the safety of other horses at the ride, the head veterinarian may deny you entrance to ride camp if you come from an infected area or if your horse shows any sign of disease. You will be given a full refund for the ride entry fees. No other expenses will be covered.

    CANCELATION POLICY:

    1.  ONLY the rider can cancel an entry. Sponsor can cancel for a Junior Rider.

    2.  Cancelation Refunds:
    • When a rider gives written notice to the Ride Manager at lease one week (7 days) prior to the ride (by midnight Friday, August 1st), a full refund will be offered. 
    • REER does not provide refund for no-show.
    • Ride Manager has the discretion to provide late cancelation refund to rider who have extenuating, emergency circumstances.
    • Current REER member may cancel up to Friday before the ride and receive a full refund.
    • Refund is issued when and how it is convenience for the Ride Manager.
    • Horse that doesn't pass the vet exam will receive a refund less $35 in administrative fees/cost incurred.

  • This is an inclusive, family friendly event.  All are welcome.  Rude, unkind, mean behavoir will not be tolerated.  Demonstration of inappropriate behavior toward any participant or volunteer will be grounds for immediate disqualification from this event and denied entry to future events.

  • JUNIOR RIDER UNDER 18 RELEASE: I, the undersigned parent or guardian of 
    for consideration of my child’s participation in the above named Ride, do hereby release all persons charged with official capacity in the executive of such Ride from all claims, defends, suits or liabilities which might otherwise arise by virtue ofinjury to my child, and so further agree to indemnify and hold harmless each and every one of them from any and all claims, demands, suits or liabilities which might otherwise arise by virtue of injury to or occasioned by my child or any horse undersuch child’s direction or control. I do further authorize any officer, manager, director or supervisory personnel of the above named Ride, to consent on my behalf to any emergency medical treatment by a properly licensed person, which may be required for my child and so agree to indemnify, and hold harmless anyone giving such consent.


    Furthermore, as parent/guardian, I agree to allow my child to participate in the above Ride, which is sponsored by the Redwood Empire Endurance Riders (REER). I have read the rules, conditions and regulations of the ride and agree to comply with them. I am aware that an endurance ride covers difficult terrain on trails where the footing for horses may be unsure. I further acknowledge that competitive or “endurance” horse riding is over considerable distances and contains inherent risks of injury and damage to me personally, to my child, to our horse and to our equipment. I understand that endurance riding involves being in remote areas for extended periods of time, far from communication, transportation, and medical facilities; that these areas have many natural and man-made hazards which ride management cannot anticipate, identify, modify, or eliminate; that horses can be excitable, difficult to control, and unpredictable; and that accidents can happen to anyone at any time. I agree to take full responsibility for myself and the animal I am riding. I will hold AERC, ride management, all ride personnel, REER, and all property owners over whose land the ride passes blameless for any accident, injury or loss that might occur due to my participation in the ride and free from all liability for such injury or loss.Knowing these facts I nonetheless, in consideration of your accepting this entry, do hereby for myself, heirs, executors and administrators, waive and release the above named Ride, The American Endurance Riders Conference, the Redwood Empire Endurance Riders, and all other persons organizations, regardless of their capacity in any way connected with the above named Ride or their representatives, heirs, executors and assigns from any and all right, claim or liability for damages, or for any and all injuries that may be sustained by me or my child, including injuries to animals, or from any kind or nature that I might have. Furthermore, I do hereby acknowledge that said release extends to any accidents, damages or claims arising out of my child’s entry caused by my own act or by the acts of my child or any animal under my supervision or that of my child, if I am not present.
    I DECLARE UNDER PENALTY OF PERJURY THAT THE FORGOING IS TRUE AND CORRECT.
