  • Te Āhuru Mōwai is a 10-week kaupapa designed to empower whānau Māori with skills, confidence, and support toward employment. With childcare support and transport provided, the programme offers hands-on workshops, personal development, and networking in a culturally safe space. Te Āhuru Mōwai creates pathways for whānau to thrive — into mahi, training, or business — unlocking potential and connecting you to sustainable opportunities... leaving or kaupapa to "earn or learn" for your whānau.

  • Participant Agreement and Acknowledgement
    I agree to take part in the “10 Week Te Āhuru Mōwai" programme 2025 and have received sufficient information on which to base a decision. I agree to participate in the activities involved. I acknowledge the need for myself to behave responsibly.

    Acknowledgement of Risk and Safety Responsibilities
    I understand that there are risks associated with involvement in EOTC events and that these risks cannot be completely eliminated. I understand that the “Purotu”’ team will identify any foreseeable risks or hazards and implement correct management procedures to eliminate, isolate or minimise those hazards. I understand that I will be involved in the development of safety procedures. I will do my best to follow these procedures.

    Media Release and Consent
    I give permission for photographs, written content, and film footage of myself to be used by “Purotu" for promotional purposes. I understand that the photographs, written content, film footage may appear on "Purotu”’ social media platforms, posters and a wide range of print and online publications produced.

    Consent to Information Sharing with the Ministry of Social Development
    "I give permission for information regarding my participation and engagement in the Te Āhuru Mōwai programme to be shared with the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) for the purposes of programme delivery, monitoring, and evaluation. Any disclosure of personal information will be undertaken in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 1993. All reasonable steps will be taken to ensure that the information shared is limited to what is necessary, used solely for the purposes for which it was collected, and protected against unauthorised access or disclosure.

    Informed Consent and Voluntary Participation
    I know that I am able to ask any questions of the “Purotu”’ team about the activities I will be involved in, to gain a better understanding of the risks involved. I recognise that participation in such activities is voluntary and not mandatory through a ‘challenge by choice’ procedure. I understand that I may withdraw from an activity if I feel at risk. This must be done in consultation with the person in charge.

    Personal Property Disclaimer
    I understand that the “Purotu" team does not accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal property.

    Privacy and Confidentiality
    I understand “Purotu" will follow the Privacy Act 1993 requirements and not use this information for any other purpose or disclose to a third party without my consent.

    Access to Personal Information
    I understand I have the right to access and correct information about myself that is held by “Purotu".
