Annie Oliver was the first President of OASIS. Annie accepted responsibility for the leadership of a new organisation, the goal of which was to provide services to and promote the interests of agencies that serve people with developmental disabilities and their families. From a base of six agencies at its inception in 1996, she helped to develop an influential organisation that now has nearly 200 members. A leader, who used her intelligence, organisational skills, common sense and good humour to steer the evolution of OASIS from its fledgling stage to maturity. She remains an example to all of us. The recipients of this award, named in her honour, follow in her footsteps, perpetuating the highest standards of integrity and dedication to enabling the best quality services and supports for people with developmental disabilities.
This award will be presented at the OASIS Conference at Blue Mountain from 30th April -2nd May 2025 The objective of this award is to recognise and honour an individual:
a) Who demonstrates excellence, innovation and leadership in the developmental services sector and best exemplifies the interests and mission of OASIS.
AND
b) Who demonstrates the highest administrative competence and professionalism and in so doing has provided an inspiration to others.
AND
c) Who, by a combination of perseverance, determination and positive attitude has assisted OASIS in achieving the goals inherent in its Mission Statement.
OASIS Mission Statement:
OASIS provides leadership through sharing ideas, information and knowledge; and interacts with government and other organisations on issues affecting its members.
Recognition:
The Award includes a donation to the organisation for which the individual works in the name of the recipient for an amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00).
NOMINATION PROCESS:
1. This Nomination Form must be completed by the person making the nomination.
2. Nominations will be accepted until 18th April, 2025.
3. The decision on recipient will not be made known until the award is presented at the OASIS Conference, unless to ensure the attendance of the recipient the person or representative of the organisation needs to be notified in confidence prior to the Conference.
4. It shall be the responsibility of OASIS to ensure that a cheque is presented to the appropriate agency along with the award to the recipient.
