  • State of Minnesota's Groundwater Supply

  • Join an AgriGrowth conversation with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to understand the state's groundwater supply better.

Groundwater supplies 75 percent of Minnesota's drinking water and 90 percent of agricultural irrigation. However, drought, climate change, and increasing demands have stressed the state's groundwater supply in several parts. Those stressors have also created challenges with issuing timely water appropriation permits. MN DNR leaders will share the latest information on the state of Minnesota's aquifers, how groundwater supply is impacting permitting decisions, and changes the agency is making to improve the timelines of issuing permits.
