    Job Overview: 

    We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Live Event Master Control Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of live event broadcast operations, ensuring seamless transmission and high-quality output for live events. You will work with state-of-the-art broadcast equipment and software, managing technical operations in real-time to ensure every broadcast goes smoothly. 


    General Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Operate and manage broadcast equipment, including switchers, servers, and automation systems during live events.
    • Oversee the live transmission of events, ensuring audio, video, graphics, and other elements are synchronized and functioning properly.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including the ability to recover on-air in a short duration, that may arise during live broadcasts, ensuring minimal disruption.
    • Coordinate with the production team to manage inputs and outputs, including camera feeds, video clips, graphics, and audio signals.
    • Perform system checks before, during, and after live events to ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
    • Assist in the setup and configuration of master control systems and equipment for live event broadcasts.
    • Monitor broadcast signals for quality control, making adjustments to maintain the highest quality output.
    • Provide real-time support to the production team to address any last-minute playlist changes or technical adjustments during live broadcasts.
    • Maintain documentation and logs related to broadcast equipment, systems, and technical operations.
    • Ability to work within and support a team mentality including a willingness to learn new techniques, systems, or responsibilities and provide a positive work environment to encourage collaboration.
    • Ingest and quality control as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • General Knowledge of Professional Sports Leagues: Familiarity with the pace and flow of live sporting events, including timeouts, instant replays, and other key elements that impact live broadcasting.
    • Works with Minimal Supervision: Take ownership of live event operations, demonstrating autonomy in managing broadcast workflows, addressing technical challenges, and making critical decisions under pressure to ensure uninterrupted broadcasts.
    • General Knowledge of Satellite and Transmission Feeds: Experience with satellite and fiber feeds or IP-based transmission.
    • Proven experience working as a Master Control Operator, Broadcast Technician, or similar technical role in a live event or broadcast environment.
    • Strong understanding of broadcast equipment, including video switchers, servers, automation systems, and audio/video signal flow.
    • Experience with broadcast automation software and live event transmission workflows.
    • Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience with streaming technologies and online platforms.
    • Familiarity with control room environments and technical operations for sports, concerts, or live shows.
    • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for live broadcast quality.

    Salary Range:

    $24.00- $34.00 an hour.
