  • Electrolysis is a life changing yet intricate process that requires consisentency and patience. The information provided in this form is essential to educating yourself so you can fully understand the electrolysis treatment process and approximate timeline for permanent results before you decide to proceed with treatments.

    Our first step is to book a free consultation so we can examine the area in person to determine our recommended appointment length and frequency. We will also discuss the process with you in more detail, give you a sample treatment and answer any question you may have. There is no obligation if you do not feel Electrolysis is a right fit for you. 

    • Electrolysis is the only method of permanent hair removal.
    • It is a gradual process will first get finer, thinner and weaker before they stop growing permanently.
    • Not all hair is actively growing at the same time due to the hair cycles.
    • Due to this and many other factors, the amount of appointments necessary is impossible to predict. 
    • A series of appointments will be required to fully clear the area while also allowing time for the skin to heal between treatments.
    • At the time of your consultation, we will suggest a treatment schedule that is designed to get you permanent results in the shortest timeframe with the least amount of appointments.
    • Being consistent and following your treatment plan will allow you to achieve the quickest results in the shortest timeframe.

  • Side Effects

    • During this process, your hair root is directly targeted with an electrical current designed to kill the hair cells that cause hair growth. This is going to cause some minor irritation and discomfort to your skin.  
    • Your skin will be the most sensitive for the first few appointments.   
    • You may experience redness, irritation and minor swelling following your treatments  
    • You may experience warmth, heat and/or itching in the treated area  
    • Small scabbing may appear over the following days.
    • Other rare but possible side effects include bruising

  • Aftercare

    • Ice may be applied in short periods if needed to reduce redness, irritation and swelling.
    • Hydrated skin will heal faster so it is essential you drink lots of water to assist your skins recovery. 
    • Please cleanse and refresh the skin with witch hazel and aloe 2x3 times a day when possible until healed. 
    • Please apply Polysporin Ointment or Vitamin E Ointment 2-3x a day when possible until healed.
    • If you experience breakouts please apply tea tree oil ONCE PER DAY
    • Do not touch, pick, scratch or exfoliate the treated area to avoid infection and scarring.
    • Keep the area clean from dust, debris and bacteria to avoid infection.
    • Avoid make-up, deodorant, harsh soaps, cleansers or chemicals until healed
    • Do not expose the area to the sun or tanning beds until fully healed to prevent hyperpigmentation.
    • Do not undergo chemical peels, spray tans or laser until the area is healed
    • Avoid hot baths, saunas or public pools until the area is healed

     

  • How to Prepare for your Appointment

    • Please do not shave or cut the hairs for 3-4 days (or longer) before your appointment so we can accruately map out your current growth.
    • Please refrain from tweezing or waxing as long as possible before your consultation. It distorts the hair follicle further, strenghtens the root and interups hair cycles. 
    • Please come comfortable and well hydrated.
    • On the day of your appointment, we recommend you avoid make-up, lotions, deoderants, etc. 
    • For bikini and brazilian appointments, we ask that you please shower or freshen up before your appointment.

     

  • Appointment Information & Policies

    • You can use the online booking tool to book, change or cancel appointments within 24 hours of the appointment date. If you don't have a username and password, you will receive one after your consultation. 
    • Cancellations/changes cannot be done online within 24 hours of your appointment. Please text if you need to change your appointment within 24 hours of the appointment date. 
    • We accept cash, debit and credit (we do not accept American Express).
    • Full payment is due for changes/cancellations with less than 24 hours notice.
    • The full appointment fee is due for missed appointments.
    • If you do not receive a text reminder, it is still your duty to remember your appointment.
    • Please cancel your appointment if you are sick. If you are truly sick there will be no cancellation fee.
    • Please remove your shoes upon entry into the clinic. 
    • If there is no one to greet you when you arrive, please enjoy our waiting area and we will be with you at your scheduled appointment time.
