  • Behaviour Guidelines & Expectation

    1. The Trailblazers Club is designed to be a welcoming and inclusive space where everyone can feel safe and enjoy the experience.
    2. As Trailblazers are adults, we believe in offering as much choice as possible. We encourage participation but do not force it. We believe meaningful participation comes from choice.
    3. Trailblazers and their supports (if applicable) are expected to interact respectfully and help maintain a positive group environment.
    4. Trailblazers who require ongoing 1:1 support are expected to attend with their guardian or support worker. The Trailblazers Club is a group program and does not provide consistent 1:1 support.
    5. If a participant's behaviour significantly impacts the safety or experience of others, Unique Optimism reserves the right to withdraw them from the program. No refunds will be issued in these cases.
  • Guardian & Support Worker Expectations

  • We encourage Trailblazers who are able to attend independently, to do so. When attending The Trailblazers Club, guardians and support workers are expected to:

    • Encourage choice and independence whenever possible.
    • Step in only when support is needed, rather than leading participation.
    • Remain engaged throughout the program and limit personal cell phone use.
    • Follow all Trailblazers Club expectations.
  • Funding

  • Where should invoices be sent?*
  • Registration, Payment & Withdrawal Policy

    1. The Trailblazers Club spaces are limited and there is often a waitlist.
    2. An invoice will be sent after your registration has been approved. Payment is due within 14 days to secure your Trailblazer's spot.
    3. If payment has not been received by the due date and alternative arrangements have not been made with Unique Optimism, your registration may be cancelled and the spot offered to the next Trailblazer on the waitlist.
    4. If you have requested that your invoice be sent directly to your Passport Funding Manager, it remains your responsibility to follow up and ensure payment is received by the invoice due date. If you anticipate a delay, please contact Unique Optimism before the due date.
    5. Withdrawals received 31 or more days before the program start date will receive a full refund, minus a $35 administration fee.

    6. Withdrawals received 30 days or less before the program start date are non-refundable.

    7. Missed sessions and unattended activities are also non-refundable.

    8. If the program must be cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control, a partial refund (minus prepaid expenses and the $35 administration fee) will be issued.
  • Service Dog in Training Acknowledgement

Rufus, a service dog in training with Autism Dog Services, may join us during some Trailblazers Club sessions as part of his training and socialization. Interactions with Rufus will always be supervised and Trailblazers will be guided on how to respectfully interact with him when appropriate.
  • Special Activity Acknowledgement

    1. One Trailblazers Club session will take place off site at Splitsville Bowling on May 20, 2026, unless otherwise communicated in advance. On this date the program will take place exclusively at Splitsville.
    2. Bowling lanes are booked and prepaid in advance, therefore refunds or credits cannot be provided if a Trailblazer is unable to attend this session.
    3. Trailblazers and their guardians/supports are responsible for their own transportation and must meet the Pathfinders directly at Splitsville.
