• Karate Tasmania Club Membership Application Form

  • Pre-requisites For Membership

    Ø  Current membership of Karate Australia.

    Ø  Be nominated by two (2) current financial members of Karate Tasmania (see below).

    Ø  Willing to abide by the Constitution of the Karate Tasmania.

    Ø  Willing to provide at least one (1) committee member and nominate a maximum of four (4) committee members to Karate Tasmania.

    Ø  Have at least one (1) club coach certified bronze under Karate Australia’s Karate Instructor policy (KIA).

    Ø  Committed to providing at least one (1) World Karate Federation trained referee to officiate at Karate Tasmania tournaments.

    Ø  Willing to attend the Karate Tasmania Annual General Meeting and participate in monthly committee and special general meetings when called. 

    Ø  Willing to pay a membership application fee as set by the Association.

    Ø  Willing to pay an annual membership fee as set by the Association.

    Additional Notes Relating to Membership of Karate Tasmania:

    Each Member Club shall:
    i. elect or appoint two (2) delegates, who shall have the right to be present and debate but only one (1) delegate may vote on behalf of the Member Club at General Meetings, in accordance with Rule 32;
    ii. have a minimum of 10 registered members in order to be granted or retain affiliation with Karate Tasmania & Karate Australia;
    iii. take all necessary steps to ensure its constitution or associated policies, clearly reflect the objects of Karate Tasmania and are otherwise in a form acceptable to the Board; and
    iv. ensure its constitution or policies are amended to conform with any amendments made to this constitution;

    (c) A Karate club or organisation who wishes to become a member must comply with the New Member Club policy of Karate Tasmania.

    (d) Until such time as an applicant complies with the provisions of membership, the applicant will be considered to be a Provisional Member with no voting rights.

    (e) Individuals shall be registered with Karate Australia as individual members of a member club.
    i. Registered individuals may not be registered as members of more than one (1) member club of the Karate Tasmania.
    ii. Registered individual members of member clubs are not entitled to vote at General Meetings of Karate Tasmania.
