Wildlife Rescue data collection
We are seeking assistance from local wildlife groups and individual carers in the Darling Downs and south-western regions of Queensland to provide data on wildlife rescues and wildlife in care. This information will be used as evidence that more resources are required to assist wildlife throughout this region where facilities are limited or not available. We are seeking at least a years’ worth of data (if able, more data would be better). This does not need to be identifiable; we are simply seeking data to demonstrate there is a need for facilities to provide better welfare outcomes for all wildlife.
This data will be used to justify further facilities and resources for the Darling Downs and south-western regions of Queensland to overcome the issue that current facilities provide care primarily only for the south-east region and they are relocating further away. Transport of wildlife this distance is unviable and a welfare issue. There is interest from local organisations in having better facilities provided for wildlife in our region, but we are missing consolidated data as evidence of the need. If you have any questions, please reach out to myself on michael@wdrr.org.au or call me on 0402 307 988. Your help in providing data will go towards justifying the much-needed facilities in our region. Thank you for your participation and provision of valuable data. Could we please have completed collection forms back by 30th April 2025. Let’s make it happen!
