Registration Card for Interested and Affected Parties
Carin Bosman Sustainable Solutions (CBSS), has been appointed as independent water governance specialist to prepare an application for a Water Use Licence (WUL) for the Sappi Lomati Sawmill for the authorisation of a borehole on the premises of the Mill.

This borehole is necessary to alleviate the water shortages experienced in Barberton, and the establishment of the borehole, at the request of the municipality, facilitates the availability of water to other residents and industries in Barberton. The application for the WUL has to be supported by a Technical Report (Integrated Water and Waste Management Plan (IWWMP)), which has to indicate how stakeholder concerns are to be addressed.

To ensure that the aspects addressed in the Technical Report are based on objectives that reflect the needs and requirements of all stakeholders in this regard, we need your assistance: Please complete this Registration Card, and tell us about your role, your expectations on aspects that the WUL Application should address, and how addressing a particular aspect will help you, or in your opinion, lead to better protection of surface- and groundwater resources near the Mill.

Please note - as space on the Card is limited, it is best if you stick to ONE issue per Card. You can complete and submit as many Cards as you want!

Every person who has completed one or more of these Registration Cards will receive a copy of the Final Draft IWWMP, with ample opportunity to submit comment on it, prior to its finalisation.

We assure you that the requirements of the Protection of Personal Information Act 14 of 2013 (“POPIA”) will be adhered to throughout this process. The information we gather with these Cards will be used exclusively to inform the finalisation of the Technical for the Sappi Lomati WUL Application. We will furthermore not disclose your name or contact details to anyone, and your comments will be captured anonymously in any reports, unless you explicitly give your permission that your name can be linked to your inputs.
