  • We request that volunteers commit to at least six consecutive months of service to ensure consistency in the care and support we provide to the animals. While we understand that unexpected circumstances may arise, we ask that you carefully consider this long-term commitment before submitting this questionnaire. Reliable and dedicated volunteers are essential to our mission, and we depend on your commitment to make a meaningful impact.

  • Which LOCATION are you most interested in volunteering at?*
    1. Our volunteer manager will review applications each Monday. 
    2. Candidates will receive an email outlining their available options.
    3. Eligible applicants will then receive an invitation to set up an account in our volunteer software system
    4. Applicants will sign up for a mandatory Onboarding class using their new account
    5. Applicants must attend a 90-minute Onboarding class at 4775 Dorman Street, where they will:
      • Attend an IHS orientation
      • Sign a Limited Liability Waiver
      • Pay the $10 registration fee
      • Receive their first volunteer shirt (covered by registration fee)
      • Learn to complete basic housekeeping duties

    Once a volunteer completes the Onboarding process and works a minimum of 4 shifts in housekeeping at the required location, they become eligible to register for the skills classes required to work with the animals.
