VOLUNTEER FAQs

 

What will my role as a volunteer entail?

As a volunteer, you will assist with various tasks such as supervising activities, guiding participants, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all attendees.

 

What qualifications or experience do I need to volunteer?

While specific qualifications are not required, enthusiasm, patience, and a willingness to engage with participants are essential. Any relevant experience working with youth or in construction-related fields is a plus but not mandatory.

 

What should I wear or bring as a volunteer?

A t-shirt will be provided for each volunteer. Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing, including long pants or jeans, that they don't mind getting dirty, along with closed-toe shoes suitable for construction activities. Please remember to bring a water bottle, and any personal items you may need throughout the day.

 

Will there be training provided for volunteers?

Yes, there will be an online volunteer orientation session before the camp begins to familiarize you with your role, expectations, and emergency procedures. You will also have access to on-site support and guidance throughout the camp.

 

What if I have to cancel my volunteer commitment?

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise. If you need to cancel, please notify Melinda Lowe as soon as possible so that alternative arrangements can be made.

 

Can I volunteer for multiple days?

Yes, you are welcome to volunteer for multiple days if your schedule permits. Please indicate your availability on the volunteer application form.

 

Will meals be provided for volunteers?

Lunch, as well as snacks will be available during breaks. Please plan accordingly and feel free to bring your own lunch if needed.

 

Is there parking available for volunteers?

Yes, parking arrangements will be made for volunteers. Details regarding parking locations and instructions will be provided closer to the event date.
