ISRAEL EXPERIENCE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Thank you for your interest in Israel Scholarships for High School Students.  

Note the scholarship program is open to high school students, attending recognized teen programs lasting between 3 and 8 weeks.  The program must be completed prior to high school graudation.

In order to complete the application you will need:

The full name of the program you will be attending and the address to which the award is to be sent. 

A copy of the acceptance letter from the program the applicant will attend. 

A short essay, written by the applicant telling us why they want to participate and what they expect to gain from their participation.

A full, complete signed copy of the family's most current income tax return. 

A note from the applicant agreeing to perform ten (10) hours of volunteer (community) service in the Jewish community prior to the trip - at the Jewish organization of choice and agreeing  to write a note after the experience thanking donors and detailing the impact the program had, or agreeing to create a 5 – 10 minute video presentation of the experience.  

Please include a letter explaining any circumstances affecting your finances which may not be evident from the tax return.

Scholarships awarded by the Jewish Federation of Broward County are contingent upon completion of the program and all requirements of receiving the award.  Failure to do so, requires the participant to reimburse the Federation the scholarship amount.

By signing below, we confirm the information submitted on this form and other required material is truthful and accurate.  We understand the applicant is responsible for completing 10 hours of community service with a Jewish organization prior to their Israel experience and submission of a thank you letter and/or video thank you, sharing their experiences.  These items should all be sent to israel@jewishbroward.org

 

In addition, parents and/or applicant consent, for all purposes, to being interviewed, photographed, videotaped and/or filmed by the Jewish Federation of Broward County and/or ts affiliates, for use in all media and in all manner of promotion, including, but not limited to, marketing, advertising, editorial and display.  We further consent to allowing the the Jewish Federation of Broward County, and its affiliates to make use of any writing, spoken and/or written words, art work, music and/or photographs pertaining to the Israel program in which the applicant participated.

Parents and applicant release the reporter/photographer/cameraperson/editor/staff and his/her nominees and designees, from liability for any violation of any personal or proprietary right we may have in connection with such sale, reproduction or use.
