    Candidate Interest Form

  • The mParks Nominating Committee is seeking candidates for Secretary/Treasurer and Board Member-at-Large. Interested candidates must submit this form by May 16, 2025.

    Election Timeline

    • Candidate Interest Forms will be accepted April 14 to May 16, 2025.
    • By May 19, 2025, the Nominating Committee will present a proposed slate to the Secretary/Treasurer for approval.
    • On May 21, 2025, the Secretary/Treasurer shall authorize the distribution of the official ballot to the eligible voting members.
    • Voting will close at 5:00 pm on June 6, 2025.
    • The official announcement of election results will be on/or before June 13, 2025. 

     

    The candidate interest form requires written responses to the following prompts:

    • Summarize Your Professional Background
    • List prior involvement with mParks Board of Directors, Committees, Focus Areas, and other opportunities.
    • Explain the initiatives you think mParks should be undertaking to position the Parks and Recreation profession for relevance.
    • Describe how you feel mParks can recruit new members and engage its membership.
    • What are the main priorities and issues you believe mParks should focus on and influence?
    • Please explain why you want to serve on the mParks Board of Directors and what value you will add.

    The form also requires the submission of a 90-second video covering the following questions:

    • What made you want to run for a board position this year?
    • In your opinion, what do you consider the most essential priority for Park's leadership to focus on over the next 12-18 months as it relates to the Strategic Plan?
      What was your favorite park or playground feature growing up and why?

  • Secretary/Treasurer

    • The term of office for Secretary/Treasurer begins in August 2025 and continues until August 2027.
    • This position serves as chair of the Ways and Means Committee.
    • This officer shall be responsible for all official notices and the editing of all minutes from the meetings of the mParks Board of Directors.

    Board Member at Large 

    • The two-year term begins in August 2025 and continues until August 2027. 
    • Duties of this position include working with the Board of Directors to establish priorities for the Association, fiscal oversight, and representation of the membership at large.
    • Each Board Member at Large serves as a liaison to two of the four mParks Committee: Public Policy, Professional Development, Professional Recognition, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
