Summer 2025 Advocacy & Outreach Intern
SAVE (Safeguarding American Values for Everyone) is an umbrella organization consisting of SAVE Foundation (C3), SAVE Inc (C4), and SAVE Action PAC. SAVE is South Florida's leading organization dedicated to protecting people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender against discrimination. Since 1993, SAVE has advocated for equal rights for persons of all sexual orientations and gender identities since 1993. We accomplish this through grassroots action. In 2014, SAVE updated Miami-Dade's Human Rights Ordinance to include gender identity and gender expression. In 2015, SAVE launched its prejudice reduction program to reduce transphobia through face-to-face conversations. In 2022, SAVE Action PAC will engage in campaigns to defeat conservative and religious-based attacks on LGBTQ+ people. SAVE's field efforts ensure equality is won by doing public education, legislative advocacy, and electing pro-equality candidates at the local level that will be critical in advancing equality for LGBTQ+ people. Our work will include deep canvassing to combat opposition to low-income housing development, countering misinformation and voter suppression campaigns designed to undermine our democracy, and electing pro-equality candidates up and down the ballot in critical elections.
