  • Cancellation Policy

    If we have available doctors, we will reply to your request. Shifts are confirmed via email or text, and an Order is considered made once you confirm acceptance via email or text. If an Order is canceled after confirmation, fees will apply based on the notice provided prior to the scheduled shift start date. Cancellations made 8 or more weeks before the shift will incur no charge. Cancellations made 6 to 8 weeks prior will be charged 25% of the shift rate, 4 to 6 weeks prior will be charged 50%, and 2 to 4 weeks prior will be charged 75%. Cancellations made less than 2 weeks before the shift will be charged 100% of the shift rate. No fees will apply if both the doctor and hospital mutually agree to the cancellation and confirm this to us in writing.


    Overtime rates are billed in 15-minute increments. The overtime hourly rate is calculated per shift by taking the shift rate divided by the total shift hours (including lunch). There is no “grace period” time allotted. You will be notified if, due to professional liability concerns, a doctor declines to supervise RVT or mid-level practitioner comprehensive exams or procedures during their shift.

    We are the only nonprofit staffing company supporting independent practice ownership. Your monthly membership donation secures your partnership with our company.  When advertising for relief doctors please add the following phrase to attract more doctors for your shifts.

    Uplift.Vet operates as a boutique, highly personalized service, which means we intentionally limit the number of practices we partner with. To ensure we can accommodate your hospital, we encourage practice managers to respond promptly. Even if you don’t need relief coverage at the moment, resident doctors can leave unexpectedly, and partnering early on allows us to support you quickly when urgent needs arise.
