*If you have any questions before submitting, please email team@sns.space // Tel: 0207 074 4357*
Part 1 is delivered by a teacher with all materials provided by SNS, and Parts 2 and 3 constitute the live session which will be delivered by the SNS team. This booking form will schedule the live session, while it is up to the teacher to decide when to deliver Part 1 according to their schedule. We would recommend delivering this in the two weeks leading up to the live session.
The educational elements which Solutions Not Sides workshops provide are:
• Humanising encounters
• Diverse narratives
• Critical-thinking skills
PART 1 EXPLORATION:
The students engage with our short video, with Palestinians and Israelis talking about what the history of this region means to them (1 hour)
PART 2 EMPATHY:
They learn that pushing for a win-lose outcome will likely lead to lose-lose, and what that really means for the people affected through personal stories and Q&A (1 hour)
PART 3 EMPOWERMENT:
They undertake a solutions-focused exercise with the Israeli and Palestinian speakers, learning about the needs of both sides, and the importance of a win-win outcome (1 hour)
These sessions will ideally be run over two to three consecutive weeks; we can help you to schedule these and are flexible for booking sessions. It is vital that a teacher is present in all of the sessions for safeguarding and behaviour management. Workshops are ideal for groups of 60 students, however we can work with less and more.
There is a cost to the sessions, to cover the costs of staff, transport, and resources. However, if your school demonstrates a significant need for the programme, in order to respond to issues within the school, we may be able to run the sessions for free. More information is below.
Please note that in the event of a late cancellation within two weeks the workshop is due to commence you will be liable for the full cost of the session. In the event of late cancellation 2-4 weeks before the workshop is due to commence you may be liable for partial costs of the programme.
