Citizen of the Year Award
The Citizen of the Year Award, presented by the Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce, honors an individual whose extraordinary contributions have made a lasting positive impact on the community. Established in 1972, this prestigious award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, dedication, and a commitment to improving the lives of those who live and work in Cornwall and the surrounding area. The recipient of this award exemplifies the spirit of community and serves as an inspiration for others to follow.
Note: Elected officials currently serving in office are not eligible for nomination.
The Citizen of the Year Award is a celebration of the exceptional individuals who make our community stronger, and we encourage you to nominate those who inspire positive change and serve as pillars of the Cornwall area.

Recommendations for possible candidates can include some or all of the following traits:
• A resident who has demonstrated excellence in Cornwall's community service and has substantially enhanced its citizens' well-being.
• The services provided are not part of the ordinary course of professional or business duties. Instead, the contribution has been given freely without thought of receiving any personal or financial gain.
• The achievement may include community service in various sectors, including business and industry, sports, and culture, heritage conversation, the environment, etc.

- All nominees will be notified of their nomination status.
- The award recipient will be announced at the Business Excellence Awards on October 3rd, 2025.
