Back Country Horsemen of Washington
Mount St. Helens Chapter
REGIONAL WORK PARTY at Kalama Horse Camp
Cinnamon Trail
We need to know what nights you are camping because dinner will be provided each night. But you will need to fix your own breakfasts and lunches. We also need to know any special food requirements.
Campsites reserved Monday-Saturday and assigned at check-in. Nice camp with corrals, manure bins, stock water, and a large cabin/shelter for gathering.
Horses are not necessary to get to the work area. However if you do bring them, WEED-SEED FREE HAY IS REQUIRED ON NATIONAL FOREST LANDS.
There will be brushing, tread work and we will have an excavator for the heavy earth moving.
MEET AND WORK WITH NEW PEOPLE WHO SHARE THE SAME PASSION!
We will be working in conjunction with a trail excavator to rebuild the tread on a mile of trail that was burnt over three years ago.
There will be log removal, advanced tread work (water bars, grade dips, possibly packing gravel and slope stabilization).
If there are enough volunteers for this some may be sent out on other trails to do log out and brush cutting.
