    This show will be conducted and judged in accordance with the most recent United States Rules for Working Equitation, found at  https://usawe.org/rules/. It is the competitor’s responsibility to read and understand the rules prior to the competition. 

    All competitors will need to be Members of the Arizona Working Equitation Club ($30 yearly membership fee includes yearly awards!).  Those riders not currently members can either sign up prior to registering or can choose a one day membership ($15) for this show.  One day memberships do not include any yearly achievement awards. 

    Competitors interested in year end and lifetime achievement awards are encouraged to join the Arizona Working Equitation Club at https://arizonaworkingequitationclub.wildapricot.org/join-us 

    All competitors need to be current members of USAWE in good standing.  https://usawe.org/  

    All Equines will need to be recorded with the USA Working Equitation Organization https://usawe.org/membership/

    A single horse and rider team is allowed to show in only one level. A horse may not be shown by more than two riders (each rider must be in a different level). See Rulebook for details.

    Show management reserves the right to group division when less than 3 riders enter in a level.  This will only impact show standings and not national or club standings.

    Prizes / Awards 

    Ribbons will be awarded for 1st through 6th place in each phase. Ribbons will go to the top 6 overall in each level/division. 

    $$$$$$$  A Dollar prize will be awarded to the contestant with the highest Dressage and Ease of Handling averaged Score for both Shows  Amount is dependent on total number of entries. 

    Buckles will be awarded to the highest cumulative average Dressage/EOH from 3 of the 4 shows at each level regardless of division.

    Fee Schedule

    Entry Fees - L1 - $150  and  L2-L7- $180 for each show

    This event consists of two 1-day shows and a clinic on Friday - Overnight pens (uncovered panels, bring your own shavings and water buckets) are $20 a night or $65 for the weekend (Thursday - Sunday nights) and dry Camping is  available at $20 a night or $65 for the weekend (Thursday - Sunday nghts).  NO RV hookups are available - Dry camping only.

     

    FRIDAY Clinic:

    $125 for the day. Start at 9am end near 5pm - Limited to 12 riders.

    Tessa Nicolet will be the clinician for all levels. 

    Rules and Regulations 

    Hold Harmless Clause: Understanding that horse sports may be hazardous and dangerous, even leading to permanent injury or death, each owner, rider, spectator, and other participant assumes any and all risk of loss or injury and agrees to hold harmless, regardless, the horse show personnel and the facility hosting the show. Tessa Nicolet, Victoria Clayton, Joy Chadsey,  show management, volunteers, any show management agents, and the Arizona Working Equitation Club will not be responsible for any damage, injury, or loss to persons, horses, or property of exhibitors, spectators, or grooms. All local facility rules must be followed. 

    Motor Vehicle Operation: Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver’s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. 

    Media Release Agreement: I agree that as a condition of and in consideration of acceptance of entry, the competition may use or assign photographs, videos, audios or other likenesses of me and/or my horse taken during the course of the competition for the promotion or benefit of the competition or sport. These likenesses shall not be used to advertise a product and they may not be used in any way to jeopardize amateur status. I hereby expressly waive and release any rights in connection with such use, including any claim to compensation, invasion of privacy, right of publicity, or misappropriation. 

    Dogs: All dogs must be kept on a leash. Loose, loud or unruly dogs will be asked to leave.

          • WAIVER and RELEASE

            RELEASE: I understand that this is a high-risk sport and I am participating at my own risk. I hereby assume this risk and further do hereby release and hold harmless the organizer (Licensee), organizing committee, competition management, judges and officials; the Confederation for Working Equitation (the “Confederation”), its officers, agents, employees and volunteers; the host of this event or competiti on; and the owners of any property on which the event or competition is being held, from all liability for negligence resulting in accidents, dam age, injury, or illness to myself and to my property, including the horse or horses that I will compete at this event or competition. 

            AZWEC and USA WE ENTRY AGREEMENT: By entering a AZWEC or USAWE (Organization) -endorsed competition and signing this entry form as the Owner, Rider, or Parent/Guardian, I agree that I am subject to and agree to be bound by the Bylaws of the Organization applicable to the organization-endorsed competition, the U.S. Rules for Working Equitation (“Rules”), and the requirements of the competition as stated in the Prize List. I will accept as final the decision of the Protests Committee or Appeals Committee on any question arising under the Rules and agree to release and hold harmless the competition, the Organization, their officials, directors, and employees for any action taken under the Rules. I represent that I am eligible to enter and/or participate under the Rules and every horse I am entering is eligible as entered. I also agree that as a condition of and in consideration of acceptance of entry, the Organization and/or competition management may use or assign photographs, videos, audios, cablecasts, or other likenesses of me and my horse taken during the course of the competition for the promotion, coverage, or benefit of the competition, sport, or the Organization. Those likenesses shall not be used to advertise a product and they may not be used in such a way as to jeopardize amateur status. I hereby expressly and irrevocably waive and release any rights in connection with such use, including any claim to compensation, invasion of privacy, right of publicity, or to misappropriation. The Organization is governed by the laws and the State of Arizona and Colorado; any action instituted against the Organization must be filed those States. 

            In consideration for my participation in this Competition, I AGREE to the following: 

            o I AGREE that the Organization and the Competition as used herein include the Licensee and competition management, as well as all of their officials, officers, directors, employees, agents, personnel, volunteers, and Confederation affiliates.

            o I AGREE that I choose to participate voluntarily in the Competition with my horse as a rider, owner, or parent/guardian of a junior exhibitor. I am fully aware and acknowledge that horse sports and the Competition involve inherent dangerous risks of accident, loss, and serious bodily injury including broken bones, head injuries, trauma, pain, suffering, or death (“Harm”).

            o I AGREE to hold harmless and release the Organization and the Competition from all claims for money damages or otherwise for any Harm to me or my horse and for any Harm of any nature caused by me or my horse to others, even if the Harm arises or results, directly or indirectly, from the negligence of the Confederation or the Competition.

            o I AGREE to expressly assume all risks of Harm to me or my horse, including Harm resulting from the negligence of the Organization 0r the Competition.

            o I AGREE to indemnify (that is, to pay any losses, damages, or costs incurred by) the Organization and the Competition and to hold them harmless with respect to claims for Harm to me or my horse, and for claims made by others for any Harm caused by me or my horse while at the Competition I have read the Rules about protective equipment (Article 1.9.1.i) and I understand that I am entitled to wear protective equipment without penalty. I acknowledge that the Organization strongly encourages me to do so while WARNING that no protective equipment can guard against all injuries.

            I represent that I have the requisite training, coaching, and abilities to safely compete in this competition. If I am a parent or guardian of a junior exhibitor, I consent to the child’s participation, AGREE to all of the above provisions, and AGREE to assume all of the obligations of this Release on the child’s behalf. I understand and AGREE that all competitors under the age of 18 must wear an ASTM/SEI-approved safety helmet.

            o I AGREE that if I am injured at this Competition, the medical personnel treating my injuries may provide information on my injury and treatment to the Organization and competition management.

            BY submitting this form BELOW, I AGREE to be bound by all applicable Organization rules, all terms and provisions of this entry form, and all terms and provisions of the Prize List. If I am signing and submitting this Agreement electronically, I acknowledge that my electronic signature shall have the same validity, force, and effect as if I affixed my signature by my own hand.
