As the next generation of breeders and caretakers, Juniors play a pivotal role in ensuring the longevity and success of Highland Cattle in Australia.
At the 2025 National Show we will be encouraging AHCS Junior Members to get involved with a number of special awards to be presented at the banquet dinner.
These awards are only open to current AHCS Junior Members, aged between 8 and 25 years.
To be eligible for the awards,a Junior must attend all workshops held on Friday 6 June 2025, as well as enter either the Junior Judging, Junior Paraders or both classes on Saturday 7 June 2025.
The Youth Encouragement Award is presented to a young competitor who competes in the Junior Judges competition/and or the Young Parader competition, displaying enthusiasm, passion and skill that is worthy of recognition and encouragement.
The Youth Excellence Award is presented to a young competitor who competes in both the Junior Judging and Junior Parader competitions and displays excellence in their performance across both events.
Both awards aim to recognise strong work ethic and dedication to animals, and will be presented to Juniors who have worked tirelessly over the weekend, and to the best of their ability to prepare cattle for exhibition.
A team of judges will be observing participating juniors over the weekend.
