Mission Statement
Our mission is to empower children through a well-rounded educational experience that nurtures their minds, hearts, and spirits. We are committed to fostering intellectual and spiritual growth through hands-on projects, prayer/reflection, and interactive activities that explore language arts, science, math, cultures, life skills, virtues (good qualities) and art. We are also committed to fostering our kids’ ownership of their own learning, and as such, our roles as parents are more as facilitators helping kids reach their learning goals, rather than lecturers. Our vision is to equip children with the tools they need to think critically, solve problems collaboratively, and grow into compassionate, confident, and capable individuals who contribute positively to their families, communities, and the world.
Monday Program- SPARK Goals Day (PK-6th grade)
Students work with their parents on their own personal academic goals and share what they learn with the group or a partner. Each day will begin with a morning circle, which includes a student sharing an inspirational quote or a prayer from any faith, along with a virtue of the week, such as kindness. Students then have individualized learning blocks for language arts, math, science, and an elective. Between learning blocks, students have recess, snack, and lunch together.
Electives such as art, theater, cooking, and music are done in collaborative groups.
In our homeschool journey, we have found it very beneficial to have our children work with other parents as well, so if parents want to partner together or to teach each other's students during a learning block, they are more than welcome to do so.
Drop-off students are assigned a parent guide to assist them through the school day.
Friday Program- SPARK Team Learning Day
Big Sparks Team (Grades 4-6)
Students engage in team activities and project-based learning for language arts, cultural studies, science, math, virtues (good qualities) and business. The learning is led by the students as much as possible with the guidance of parents. This provides opportunities for our kids to rise to their potential as leaders and collaborators.
Class begins with a prayer from any faith or an inspirational quote that is chosen by one of the students and their parent.
Little Sparks Team (Grades K-3)
Little Sparks lessons are Montessori-inspired, involving language arts, math, cultural studies, art and virtues (good qualities). Students lead the whole-group lessons with guidance from the parents and also participate in activity centers. Class begins with an inspirational quote or prayer that a parent and child choose together from any faith background.
