We are currently seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Partnerships and Philanthropy to join our organization. As the Director, you will play a key role in shaping and implementing our fundraising strategy to support our ambitious growth trajectory. This position reports directly to the CEO and is a key member of the Senior Management Team.
Key Areas of Accountability:
Leadership:
- Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to deliver results to support Save the Children’s work on child health, education and protection in Hong Kong and around the world.
- Lead engagement with the Board and Committees to support discussions on fundraising initiatives and performance, providing strong leadership in strategic direction, business development, risk management, budgeting, and cost control.
- Lead team of approximately 20 staff members and foster cross-functional collaboration to strengthen fundraising effectiveness and achieve organisational goals
- Represent organisation in local and international forums and cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Major Donors, Corporates, and Foundations Fundraising:
- Drive fundraising efforts to secure support from major donors, corporates, and foundations.
- Oversee teams responsible for engaging and soliciting donations from these donor segments, including organising fundraising events.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with prospective and existing donors, leveraging personal and the Board of Directors’ networks and global Save the Children networks and approaches, to maximize fundraising opportunities and explore shared value approaches.
Individual Donor Fundraising and Operations:
- Oversee teams responsible for individual donor fundraising across various channels, including face-to-face, direct response television, and digital fundraising, with the aim of expanding and diversifying the individual donor base.
- Strengthen the digital fundraising strategy and execution by leveraging best practices from around the world.
- Provide strategic guidance to the donor relationship and services team, ensuring the operation of a strong donor call center and maintaining a robust donor database.
Qualifications:
- A university graduate with a major in marketing, business administration, or related disciplines.
- At least 12-15 years of experience in leadership roles in fundraising, sales, business development, public relations, and/or corporate social responsibility. Not-for-profit background is an advantage, but not a must.
Skills and Experience:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, adaptable and dynamic, with experience working in a multinational company and exposure to diverse cultures.
- Proven experience in managing a sizable team, with strong people management skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong presentation skills suited to engaging prospective clients and donors.
- Demonstrated ability to work confidently and competently at the Board level.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Cantonese, both written and spoken.
- Self-motivated with a strong ambition to achieve the best fundraising outcomes for children.
- Strong team builder, leader, and team player, nurturing, inspiring, and challenging reports and colleagues to work as a team of high performers.
- Strategic and results-oriented, with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Confident and assertive communicator, able to challenge, inspire, and lead to achieve targets.
- Resourceful problem solver with a positive "can-do" attitude towards challenges and changes.
- A good team player who can collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
