About the Fellowship

The Springboard Fellowship is a unique opportunity for emerging arts and culture professionals in Western New York to develop their skills through individualized guidance from a partner organization. After launching our pilot program in 2023, We're excited to enter the third year of this program. The program will run from September-November of 2025.

We expect organizations to provide fellows with 120 hours worth of mentorship work. ASI will compensate the fellows at $20/hour for this time. Selected organizations will also receive a $1,000 to help offset the staff time and resources needed to provide a quality training and mentorship experience.

Unpaid internships often assume that participants have the financial stability to forgo paid work, the flexibility to adapt to a new schedule, and access to staff members who can provide individualized guidance. The Springboard Fellowship addresses these challenges by ensuring fellows are compensated for their time and contributions.

Program Overview

Interested organizations should answer the following questions to ensure your application is considered, please answer all questions as thoroughly and clearly as possible.
Provide a brief one-paragraph (approx. 200 words) description of your organization including the kind of work you do and who you serve. Note: your answer to this question will be shared with potential fellows if you are selected to participate.*
What kinds of projects could you work with a fellow on? What will they learn by the end of their time with you?*
