    Founded in 1938, Stern Grove Festival is a free summer music festival in San Francisco. Now entering its 88th season, the Festival draws close to 100,000 people during its ten-week series of world class performances in the outdoor setting of Sigmund Stern Grove. Past seasons have included artists including The Flaming Lips, San Francisco Symphony, Kool & the Gang, Phil Lesh & Friends, Patti Smith, Los Lobos, Bob Moses, Smokey Robinson, Ziggy Marley, Carlos Santana, Allen Stone, and Janelle Monae.

    Reporting Relationships
    The Production Coordinator reports directly to the Production Manager. The Production Coordinator also works alongside Stern Grove staff, vendor staff, and tour personnel. 
     

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    The Production Coordinator will play an integral role in supporting the Production Department in the execution of a safe and efficient large-scale production of public concert events. This role involves coordinating production logistics, vendor management, credentialing, and maintaining a safety-first approach during site activations.


    GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist in advance preparations for show days.
    • Act as a point of contact for tour representatives on show days.
    • Coordinate and communicate with internal teams, external vendors, caterers, and production crew.
    • Schedule weekly Production Team schedules and confirm weekly hours for payroll.
    • Participate in weekly team meetings.
    • Follow up on receivables and payables from partners, vendors, and tour representatives.
    • Maintain a safety-oriented outlook while on the job site.
    • Coordinate production credential and parking needs with the Credential Manager (or designated access delegate).
    • Receive approved invoices from the Production Manager and prepare disbursements.

    Personal Charactersitcs and Qualifications

    • General knowledge of audio, video, backline, and other relevant technologies in live music events.
    • Ability to handle stressful situations with diplomacy and tact.
    • Maintain self-assurance and control in all situations.
    • Ability to assess conditions and make quick, informed decisions.
    • Experience working with various productions and artists.
    • Excellent understanding of technical, music, and event production processes.
    • Strong communication skills and collaborative work ethic.

    Physical Requirements

    • Able to lift/carry 70lbs
    • Be comfortable working outdoors in the elements
    • Ability to be on your feet a minimum of 8 hours
    • Grasp, lift, carry, push and pull heavy objects such as barricades, speakers, cases and musical equipment.

    AVAILABILITY AND COMMITMENT Availability and Commitment

    • Must be available every Sunday: May 18, 2025 - August 17, 2025
      *except Memorial Day Weekend
    • Must be available Saturday August 16th
    • Employees will average 8 hours per week

    COMPENSATION

    $27 Per Hour
