  • REQUIRED COMPETITION CATEGORIES

Community Service – “Glitter and Grace” - 20%

In the Community Service, or “Glitter and Grace,” phase of the competition, the focus is on the spirit of giving and meaningful service to the community. As Maya Angelou beautifully said, “When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.”

Participants may fulfill this requirement in any of the following ways:

Submitting documentation of prior community service
Participating in the current 2026 Sparkles Community Service Project
Providing donations at the time of pageant registration
This phase celebrates compassion, generosity, and the positive impact each participant can make.

    Interview-20%

During the interview phase of the competition, each delegate will participate in either a round-robin or press conference-style interview in front of an established panel of judges.

Each delegate will be interviewed for one, two, or three minutes, depending on her age division. This format allows judges to observe how each delegate responds to a variety of ever-changing questions, as well as how she carries herself and reacts under pressure.

    Personal Introduction/Casual Wear- 15%

In the Casual Wear phase of the competition, each candidate will have the opportunity to wear an outfit of her choice that showcases her unique personal style. This phase includes a fun modeling segment set to music provided by the pageant.

During this time, each candidate will present her personal introduction to the judges. Introductions must be no longer than 30 seconds, fully memorized, and include the candidate’s name, age, and a fun fact about herself.

Be creative, have fun, and let your personality shine—this is your moment to Sparkle!

    Formal Wear/Onstage Question-15%

In the evening gown phase of the competition, poise, beauty, and confidence are what our established panel of judges will be looking for in each delegate. Remember, it’s not the dress you wear but how you wear it. This is your moment to shine on stage with elegance, grace, and glamour. Music will be provided by the pageant.

Jr. Teen and Teen candidates will answer one On-Stage Question (OSQ), while candidates in the Senior Division (Miss) will answer two OSQs during the formal wear segment.

There are no right or wrong answers. Judges will observe how confidently each candidate speaks, presents herself, and responds to questions, demonstrating poise and confidence.

    Talent -15%

During the Talent phase of the competition, candidates will showcase their unique skills across a variety of genres and mediums.

Judges will consider confidence, level of skill, degree of difficulty, costume and music selection, as well as audience engagement.

Everyone has a special gift—we can’t wait to see yours shine!

    Fitness -15%

In the required Fitness phase of the competition, each candidate will showcase her confidence and physical fitness while performing a pre-choreographed routine provided by the pageant.

Contestants may choose their own workout attire that best reflects their personality. Acceptable options include leggings or bike shorts paired with a tank top, crop top, or t-shirt. Clean tennis shoes and no-show socks.

Please ensure that all attire fits properly, is age-appropriate, and provides adequate coverage. Preferred color combinations include black, white, and yellow (gold), styled in any way you wish.

This phase is all about energy, confidence, and letting your personality shine on stage!

  • **OPTIONALS**

    Runway/Fun Fashion -

This category is optional. Think Red Carpet, New York Fashion Week, and high fashion runway—no glitz, but high fashion and Hollywood glamour are in!

Delegates will fully model on stage, showcasing their runway walk, red carpet presence, and striking poses with confidence and star quality. Judging will be based on modeling skills, stage presence, and personality. No hats, purses, or props are allowed.

Step into the spotlight, own the runway, and exude confidence like a true star!

    Spokesmodel -

The Speech / Spokesmodel category is a great opportunity for contestants to develop and showcase skills in public speaking, speech writing, advocacy, and community involvement.

Speeches do not need to be memorized. Each presentation should be a maximum of 1½ minutes (approximately 100–200 words), and contestants may use written notes if desired.

The speech must focus on a cause or topic that is meaningful to the contestant—something she believes in or hopes to create change around. Contestants should wear their Interview outfit for this phase.

This is your chance to use your voice to inspire, inform, and make an impact!

    Actress -

Ever thought about becoming an actress? Whether you want to try something new or further develop your skills for television, commercials, or theatre, this is your opportunity to step into the spotlight and explore the craft.

The pageant will provide scripted commercials, as well as a microphone, stand, emcee, and stage setup. Contestants must select and perform one commercial script from the file provided upon registration. No noticeable deviation from the script is allowed, and no props may be used.

Attire Requirements: A plain black t-shirt, jean shorts, and white tennis shoes. Makeup is permitted for all age groups, as long as it is age-appropriate and complements the performance.

    Performance Guidelines:

Contestants will take their mark at the microphone
Begin by “slating” (stating your name only)
The emcee will cue “Action” to begin and “Cut” to end the performance
Each contestant will have two takes to deliver their commercial
Judges will score based on the strongest take
This is your chance to bring a script to life and let your personality shine on stage!
