  • Summer Band: Prep for 🎃🦇👻 "A Spooktacular Event"
    Join us this summer for a thrilling musical adventure as we begin preparing for our fall performance, A Spooktacular Event! While the full band won’t officially perform until October, this 10-session summer class gives students an exciting head start on music, performance skills, and themed surprises.

    Over the course of 10 classes Thursday and/OR Friday (each 2 hours long), students will:

    🎵 Preview and begin rehearsing pieces from "A Spooktacular Event"

    🥁 Rhythm Training
    🎨 Creative Time for Musical Expression & Teamwork
    🎵 Get creative with early puppet show and theatrical ideas
    🎵 Strengthen ensemble skills like listening, dynamics, and rhythm

    Whether you’re returning or brand new to the band, this is a perfect way to keep your chops up and have some musical fun with friends before our full spooky show launches in the fall. Come for the music—stay for the thrills!

  • 🎵 Private Instrumental Lessons
    Whether your child is just beginning or ready to take their skills to the next level, private lessons provide one-on-one instruction tailored to their individual goals. Lessons are available for a variety of instruments and are designed to build solid technique, confidence, and musical expression in a supportive, encouraging environment.

    🎼 Schedule: Once per week
    ⏱️ Lesson Length: 30 minutes in Fern Park
    💵 Tuition: $30 per lesson
    📝 Registration Fee: $30 per student (per semester)
    📄 Printing/Materials Fee: $5 flat fee (covers sheet music & custom resources)

    Students will also gain access to enrichment materials, practice tips, and optional performance opportunities throughout the semester. Lesson times are scheduled individually based on availability.

    Bake, decorate, and sing your heart out in this cozy, creative class that meets once a month for four months! Each two-hour session combines the joy of baking with the magic of musical theatre.

    In each class, students will:

    🎭Listen to and discuss songs from a featured musical
    🎭Explore characters, stories, and fun facts behind the show

     Fun, expressive, and skill-building!

    🎨 Art: Soul Sparkletters Studio
    Tap into your creativity this semester with an art class inspired by Soul Sparkletters—a heart-centered art journaling approach that blends imagination, mindfulness, and expressive design. Each week, students will work on meaningful, colorful projects that combine drawing, painting, lettering, and mixed media.

    Students will:

    🎨Explore themes of identity, inspiration, and gratitude
    🎨Practice foundational art techniques and color theory
    🎨Learn creative journaling and storytelling through visuals
    🎨Build confidence in personal expression and reflection

    No prior art experience needed—just a willingness to play with paint, paper, and possibility!


    🎸 Beginning Guitar: Chords & Campfire Songs
    Strum your way into music with our Beginning Guitar class! This class is perfect for students who are new to the instrument or want a refresher on the basics.

    Students will:

    🎸Learn to tune and care for their guitar
    🎸Play basic open chords and strumming patterns
    🎸Read chord charts and simple tabs
    🎸Perform fun, familiar songs by the end of the session

    Whether you dream of leading a sing-along or just jamming at home, this class will get your fingers moving and your confidence growing!

  • 🐋 Book Club Class: A Song for a Whale
    In this two-part book club, students will read A Song for a Whale by Lynne Kelly—a moving story about Iris, a twelve-year-old deaf girl who feels a deep connection to a whale that sings at a frequency no other whales can hear.


    Ages: Middle & High School

    📅 Kickoff Zoom (30 min): Wednesday, June 11 | ⏰ 3:00–3:30 PM
    📅 In-Person (TBA) Wrap-Up (60 min): Wednesday, July 23 | ⏰ 3:00–4:00 PM
    💻 Optional fun & thoughtful activities will be available on Google Classroom between meetings!

    We’ll meet once at the beginning to introduce the book, set reading goals, and explore key themes like communication, identity, and perseverance. After students complete the book independently, we’ll gather again to share insights, favorite moments, and reflections on Iris’s journey.

    🎨 Creative activities and optional projects will give students a chance to express what the story meant to them in a meaningful and personal way.

  • 💬 Communication & Online Resources

    Band & Beyond uses a combination of platforms to keep families informed and students supported:

    🎺 Private Facebook Group – Our main hub for program-wide announcements, class updates, YouTube practice videos, group events, and field trip info.

    💻 Google Classroom – Each student also receives access to a class-specific Google Classroom with printable music, practice tracks, and optional at-home enrichment activities.

    We encourage families to check both regularly to stay connected and make the most of each learning experience!

  • 🎼 Attendance Policy


    Regular attendance is vital to creating a successful and meaningful experience where students feel confident, prepared, and part of a team. We kindly ask families to make every effort to attend each class and rehearsal.

    We understand that life happens! If you have a family trip or prior commitment that will cause an absence, we still welcome your child’s participation—we just ask that you list any known conflicts below so we can plan ahead accordingly.

    🤒 Health Reminder: Please keep your child home if they are feeling unwell.

    Important Note: The final two weeks of class, including our end-of-session rehearsals, are required attendance to ensure we’re ready for any performances or presentations.

  • 📄 Liability & Media Release Statement


    By enrolling in Band & Beyond, I understand and agree to the following:

    📄Liability Waiver: Band & Beyond and its instructors are not responsible for any personal injuries, or for the loss of or damage to personal belongings during classes, rehearsals, performances, or events.

    📄Health & Participation: I understand it is my responsibility to inform the instructor(s) of any health conditions, injuries, or limitations (e.g., hand/arm injury) that may affect my child’s ability to fully participate in class activities.

    📄Emergency Medical Authorization: In the event of an emergency where I cannot be reached, I give permission to Terra Hunsicker and Band & Beyond to seek appropriate medical care for my child.

    📄Media Release: Band & Beyond may take photos and videos during classes, rehearsals, performances, and events. These images may be used for promotional materials, social media, and shared for fun within our private Band & Beyond Facebook group.

  • 💰 Tuition & Refund Policy

    Initial Payment: All first payments must include the registration fee and materials fee (if applicable).

    Book Club Exception: The Book Club class has a special reduced registration fee of $5 per student.

    Minimum Enrollment: Classes and programs are subject to cancellation or delay if the minimum enrollment is not met.

    Invoices & Attendance: Tuition invoices are sent every 4 weeks. If you notify me in advance of any planned absences, your invoice will reflect those dates. Otherwise, full tuition for that session will be charged.

    Missed Classes: Tuition is not adjusted for missed classes unless discussed before the start of that session.

    Deposits & Payments: A non-refundable, non-transferable $30 deposit per student is due at registration (except for Book Club, which is $5). This deposit secures your spot and will be applied toward your total tuition. After registration is received, a PayPal invoice will be sent if full payment has not yet been made.

    You may pay tuition in full or in four equal installments on the following dates:
