Submitted works should be new (within the past 18 months) and not shown locally (within 100 miles).
ABOUT ASA
The Agricultural Stewardship Association (ASA) is a non-profit land trust dedicated to the conservation of farmland and working forests in Washington and Rensselaer counties. Maintaining a solid land base helps farming thrive, and thriving farmers provide numerous benefits to the community: a significant boost to the economy, a reliable supply of good food, open space, and beautiful vistas. To date, ASA has assisted landowners in conserving more than 31,000 acres of land on over 170 properties. For more information, visit www.agstewardship.org.

For example: KS01RayofSunshine, KS02BeautifulDay, KS03SummerNight
** Sales of artists from past shows whose work was properly photographed consistantly proves to be far higher than those who was not. **
If accepted, you will receive additional details on any photographic requirements for each piece.
If you have any questions, please contact Kara O'Malley Scieszka, exhibition manager at kara@agstewardship.org
SELECTION PROCESS:
A panel of 5-7 jurors will review the submitted materials.
The criteria for selection are in two main areas:
- The artist’s success in drawing inspiration from agricultural landscapes typical of Washington and Rensselaer counties
- Artistic excellence.
Artists selected by the jury to participate in Landscapes for Landsake 2025 will be notified by email during the week of July 14-18, 2025.
After acceptance, the curator or exhibition manager may contact you about selecting additional works for the exhibition.
If selected, you will receive details on which pieces were selected to be viewed at our in-person event; those will need to be delivered to ASA in late September. All selected works will be made available on the website.
PROCEEDS:
All of the works chosen for the exhibition will be offered for sale. 50% of proceeds go to the artist and 50% to ASA. Artists may choose to offer a larger percentage to benefit ASA. There has been a growing interest from attendees in commissioned pieces by Landscapes for Landsake artists. Please indicate if you would be willing to provide this service with the same 50%-50% deal for commissioned pieces on your application.
Other Considerations:
All works must be properly presented, i.e. in professional quality framing or other means. Framing is the responsibility of the artist. All art must be original work, designed and executed by the accepted artist.
Delivery of Works of Art/Pick-up of Unsold Art
Details will be provided upon acceptance. Please plan to have your paintings available to ASA for the entire months of September and October.
Promotion
We ask that all selected artists help to promote the show. This could be via social media, your email lists, website, and helping to distribute postcards and flyers in your area.
ASA's publicity for the show will also include: press releases, all forms of social media, ASA website features, regional event calendars, newspapers, and radio advertisements.
