  • Council Activity Application

  • Dear Girl Scouts and Esteemed Volunteers,

We recognize that Girl Scouts of all ages are brimming with creative ideas for events, activities, and exciting places to explore. As they develop their skills and gain valuable experience, it is essential that we support them in researching, planning, budgeting, fundraising, and constructing agendas or itineraries. In this journey, we encourage thoughtful discussions about how their participation aligns with at least one of Girl Scouts' Five Outcomes: a Strong Sense of Self, Positive Values, Challenge Seeking, Healthy Relationships, and Community Problem Solving.

This application requests approval for the following activities:

Troop and Service Unit Events & Activities: Submit 2 months before the activity date. This application is not required for activities at Camp Meriwether, Camp Misty Mountain, or Camp Timber Ridge.

High-Risk Activity: Submit 2 months before the activity date.

Overnight activities and trips (Local and Domestic): Submit 2-4 months before the activity date.

Off-site Camporees, Cruises & International Travel: Submit 8-12 months before the activity date.

It is important to note that regular troop meetings, events at one of our three camp locations, and most standard day trips, including virtual activities—do not require prior approval.

To ensure a smooth approval process, please complete this form in advance to allow time for review. Upon submission, you will receive an immediate confirmation email. Within 14 days, you will be informed of your approval status and if further clarification, documentation, or review is needed. To expedite processing, please provide any outstanding information within 48 hours.

Should you need to edit a request that has already been submitted, please email your updated information to councilapproval@gsgatl.org. In such cases, there is no need to submit a new application.
