  • GENERAL INFORMATION

  • 1. 2025 NBTA rules will be in effect.

    2. Absolutely no coolers or fast food permitted inside Hoover High School "Jazz Dolls' parent organization will have a variety of food items available including donuts and coffee for the early birds. NO BEVERAGES OTHER THAN WATER ALLOWED ON GYM

    3. Building owners, contest directors or sponsors will not be responsible for accidents, lost or stolen property or injuries.

    4. Order of appearance for pageant events will start with letter "N" for solo with modeling being 1/3 down the list of contestants and strut additional 1/3 down the list of contestants. Open events and regional non-pageant events will also start with letter "N".

    5. NO DOUBLE ENTERING EXCEPT FOR NOVICES. Novice: Has not won 3 first place awards or a first place award in a higher division. Beginner: Has not won 5 first place awards in Beginner level of competition or a first place in a higher division. Intermediate: Has not won more than 8 first place awards in Intermediate level of competition or a first place in a higher division. In accordance with NBTA rules, Novice contestants are permitted to double enter Beginner pageants and events and will be subject to moving up to Beginner division if the contestant wins a Beginner event or pageant.

    6. There is a Gym Fee of $35.00 (per family) to be included with each individual entry. This eliminates the traditional door charge.

    7. Contestants will compete in an age group based on their age as of September 1, 2024

    8. All lane assignments and order of events will be listed in the contest program.

    9. Contest floor is reserved for contestants and officials only. Practice area available.

    10. It is the contestant's responsibility to report to their lanes on time or the judges may give a penalty.

    11. No gymnastics allowed-body aerials, walkovers, cartwheels, butterflies, somersaults on floor-penalty is disqualification in Great Lakes Regionals Events.

    12. Gymastics is ALLOWED in all open and Independence Classic events including Freedom Cup. No time limit

    13. A two-handed catch is the same as a drop. 5 penalty)

    14. Solo classification determines pageant level. Please refer to 2024 NBTA solo rules: all NBTA sanctioned and non-sanctioned wins must be counted. Please move up accordingly to avoid possible disqualification.

    15. Advanced open Twirl-Off on Sunday for first place winner in each division.

    16. Rhythmic is a one baton routine choreographed to your own music with no props.

    (0-6), (7-9), (10-12), (13-15) & (16+)

    AGE DIVISIONS FOR ALL DUETS (0-18), (19-24), (25-30) & (31 & OVER) NBTA TIME LIMITS: STRUT-NOV. 0:30-2:00, BEG., INT. & ADV. 1:30-2:00 SOLO-NOV. 0:30-2:00, BEG. 1:30-2:00, INT. 1:50-2:10, ADV. 2:20-2:30

    SKILLS PAGEANT Contestants must be a Novice solo twirler. Contestants will model in strut or solo costume (no interview), basic strut & twirl.

    GREAT LAKES REGIONAL PAGEANT 20% MODELING W/INTERVIEW - 40% STRUT - 40% SOLO ADVANCED PAGEANT - 0-6 & 7-9 DIVISION -

    10-12 DIVISION - Short or long Dress 13-15, 16+ & COLLEGE DIVISION - Long Dress

    MISS MAJORETTE OF THE GREAT LAKES

    PAGEANT- First, Second, & Third Place Advanced Royalty winners in Tiny Tot, Juvenile, Pre Teen, Junior, and Teenage divisions are eligible to enter the respective official Miss Majorette of America Pageant.

    Advanced attire same as Miss Majorette Pageant. Novice, Beginner, & Intermediate in Solo or Strut costume. Model in "Circle T" no interview. Modeling time limit 1:00 max. GREAT LAKES REGIONAL EVENTS - Open to residents of Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia. OPEN EVENTS - Open to all contestants residing inside or outside the Great Lakes Region. VISITOR'S EVENTS - Open only to contestants residing outside the Great Lakes Region

    ORDER OF APPEARANCE FOR REGIONAL AND NON-PAGEANT EVENTS AND ALL OPEN EVENTS WILL START WITH LETTER "N"

    GREAT LAKES PAGEANT For young ladies who have attended college and are still enrolled or graduated this year. It is open to girls furthering their education through other programs. Per NBTA rules, "Shall compete in twirling contest by using a 2:20-2:30 show routine: the first half with one baton (minimum time limit is 1:10 Second half if desired may include more than one baton and novelty baton. No props."

    ORDER OF APPEARANCE FOR REGIONAL PAGEANT WILL BE AS FOLLOWS: SOLO - STARTS WITH LETTER "N" MODELING - 1/3 DOWN THE LIST OF CONTESTANTS STRUT - ADDITIONAL 1/3 DOWN THE LIST OF CONTESTANTS

  • INTERMEDIATE PAGEANTS Beginner & Intermediate pageant model in Costume. Per NBTA rule: Modeling costume needs to be worn again in either the strutting or twirling portion of the pageant. Only First place Beginner and Intermediate winners are eligible to enter Official Beginner and Intermediate Pageants at Notre Dame.

    PARTICIPANTS LIABILITY RELEASE FORM THIS FORM MUST BE SIGNED BY PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN OF COMPETITOR AND RECEIVED BY CONTEST DIRECTOR BEFORE ENTRY CAN BE PROCESSED.

    I (we) represent that I (we) are the parents or legal guardian of the (competitor), twirler, minor under the age of 18 years, and in order to induce you to accept the competition entry, we have accepted this and agree to be bound by all the terms of this aforesaid release, in the same manner as if we were the (competitor) twirler. Each of us hereby releases it officers, directors, agents and/or employees from any and all liabilities. With the acceptance of this form, the undersigned hereby agree to indemnify you and hold you harmless from any liability in connection therewith.
