SCHOLARSHIP RULES & REGULATIONS
1. The applicant must be a resident of Florida and a citizen of the United States, or have legal resident status, and must be of African descent.
2. The applicant must be currently enrolled in a Nursing Program, and in good scholastic standing at the time of application.
3. The applicant must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 for undergraduate, and 3.0 for graduate, and must submit an official transcript with the application. Transcripts may be sent by the school’s registrar office to miamibna@gmail.com.
4. The applicant must be a member of Miami Chapter-BNA or submit Membership Applications with dues before the deadline. A check, credit card to 305-343-1903, money order, PayPal or Zelle using miamibna@gmail.com will be accepted.
5. The applicant must participate in the interviewing process as scheduled if applicable. The applicant will be notified of the date and interview time.
6. The scholarship application must be completed in its entirety and received by May, April 2, 2025.
7. The recipient must attend the Scholarship and Awards Luncheon.
8. The scholarship recipient will be awarded $1,000.00 to be paid in installments of $500.00 per semester. A check will be sent to the Financial Aid Director of the college, university or paid directly to the recipient after a paid receipt and class schedule is submitted to the BNA treasurer. Funds may be used for tuition, books, uniforms, state board fees, or school related travel.
9. The scholarship recipient must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA for undergraduate and 3.0 GPA for graduate while receiving the scholarship. It is the responsibility of the scholarship recipient to keep the scholarship committee informed of academic progress by forwarding a copy of transcript at the end of each semester.
10. The scholarship recipient must maintain membership in Miami Chapter Black Nurses Association, Inc. for three consecutive years, 2025, 2026, and 2027.
