    Professor Dame Clare Gerada, leading family doctor and mental health advocate

    Professor Dame Clare Gerada is a leading family doctor and mental health advocate. She is best known for founding NHS Practitioner Health, a confidential service supporting doctors and health professionals with mental health and related difficulties. She has also served as President of the Royal College of General Practitioners and chairs Doctors in Distress. Her work has focused strongly on primary care, mental health, practitioner wellbeing and the need to support healthcare workers. Her experience brings an important perspective on early intervention, stigma, access to care and the wellbeing of those who provide care to others.

    Professor Sir Simon Wessely, Regius Professor of Psychiatry

    Professor Sir Simon Wessely is Britain’s first and only Regius Professor of Psychiatry and one of the UK’s leading psychiatrists and medical researchers. His work has shaped understanding of psychological medicine, epidemiology, military health, unexplained symptoms, clinical trials and how people and populations respond to adversity. He has also contributed to mental health policy and interdisciplinary research, bringing together medicine, law, history, sociology and public policy. His expertise offers a broad perspective on mental health risks, prevention, treatment and care, both from a clinical and societal point of view.

    Dr Adrian James, Medical Director for Mental Health and Neurodiversity at NHS

    Dr Adrian James is Medical Director for Mental Health and Neurodiversity at NHS England and a former President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He has played a leading role in mental health policy, service improvement, workforce wellbeing and equality in healthcare. During the Covid 19 pandemic, he led work on the risks faced by persons with serious mental illness or learning disabilities, contributing to their prioritisation for vaccination. His work has also focused on achieving parity of esteem, placing mental health on an equal footing with physical health.
