WELCOME TO THE PLEASURE ISLAND PAGEANT
This pageant is more than just crowns and sashes. It's a celebration of kindness, compassion and community impact
Pleasure Island Queens are encouraged to use your platform to make a difference. Your participation helps support powerful causes. This event is a fundraiser for V.O.C.A.L, a 501c3 nonprofit advisory board for the New Hanover County Senior Resource Center
Proceeds go directly to V.O.C.A.L's emergency fund which provides critical financial assistance to local seniors in need.

DIVISIONS:
Wee Miss 1-2 years
Tiny Miss 3-4 years
Mini Miss 5-6 years
Little Miss 7-9 years
Junior Miss 10-12 years
Teen Miss 13-15 years
Miss 16-20 years
*Each Queen will receive a crown and sash. Majestic Queen will be crowned for the highest score including People's Choice, Selling Ads plus YOUR CHOICE of 2 optionals and required categories.
Applications accepted on or before July 1, entry fee is $80.00. On July 2, the entry fee will increase to $130.00. A deposit of $50 will hold your spot, but remaining balance must be paid by the early deadline to receive discounted entry fee and all entry fees must be paid by July 15. Entry fee is non-refundable.
TITLE ONLY COMPETITION
INTERVIEW
All divisions will compete in Interview. Wee, Tiny and Mini Miss will be in age division group and can bring their favorite doll or stuffed animal. Little Miss and up will have a 3 minute private Interview.
TROPICAL WEAR/ BEACHY CASUAL WEAR
All divisions will compete in tropical wear. Think beach vacation! Resort wear, nautical, swimsuits (with a wrap), sundress, shorts, etc acceptable. Dress like anything to do with a Beach Vacation! Props (sunglasses, hats, beach bag, flowers, surfboards, shoes/no shoes, etc.) are permitted.
Scoring will reflect presentation and personality.
PARTY DRESS
- Wee Miss

- Mini Miss
Will compete in party dress. Party dress or pageant dress is acceptable.
EVENING WEAR
- Little Miss (short or long dress)
- Junior Miss
- Teen Miss
- Miss
Will compete in long evening gown. Contestant will introduce with their name, contestant # and make a statement about how the Emergency Fund can help the seniors in need.
OPTIONALS
(Add $20 for each entry)
PHOTOGENIC
Open to all divisions. Please submit a Headshot (natural or professional) photo no larger than 8x10 on or before pageant day by 3pm. Only 1 photogenic entry will be accepted. There will be 1 Overall Winner.
FUN FASHION/ PARTY WEAR
Open to all divisions. Glitzy, runway, diva attire. There will be 1 Overall Winner.
TALENT
Open to all divisions. 2 minute maximum time limit. There will be 1 Overall Winner.
FITNESS WEAR
Open to all divisions. Have fun with this! No swimsuits in this category. Props are permitted. Wear something you think would portray a fun fitness to you. There will be 1 Overall Winner.
REQUIRED FOR MAJESTIC (Including 2 Optionals)
AD SALES AND PEOPLE'S CHOICE
Will be in featured in the programs. These ads may be from businesses, friends and family wishing you good luck, etc. Ads and money are due July 30 by 5:00.

- Collect money from your family and friends. This all helps with fundraising. People’s Choice money is due August 5 by 5:00.
Make checks payable to V.O.C.A.L. or Venmo Diane Berry Klutz. You will be getting more information about the pageant after the deadline.
The judges’ decision is final. Please do not approach the judges at any time before, during or after the pageant.
The Pleasure Island Pageant and the New Hanover County Senior Center will not be held responsible for accidents, damages, theft, illnesses or lost items the day of the pageant or any activities pertaining to the pageant.
