Applicants understand that the Camp Counselor position is a support-based role and not an instructional or lead teaching position. Camp Counselors are expected to assist instructors and staff with camp operations, including but not limited to setup, cleanup, organizing and distributing materials, supervising participants, assisting with activities, and other general support duties as assigned. Camp Counselors are also expected to uphold all Gateway Regional Arts Center (GRAC) policies, procedures, behavioral expectations, and safety guidelines while representing the organization in a professional and respectful manner.

However, in select cases, GRAC staff may choose to offer a paid summer internship opportunity to individuals who demonstrate substantial availability, strong work ethic, professionalism, and valuable experience.
