  • Notice to Disconnect Utilities

  • Due to non-compliance with the necessary corrections related to Life Safety Code violations, as well as violations of TITLE 6 - FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION, and/or in acknowledgment of the urgent need to address conditions that pose an immediate risk to life or property, the St. George Fire Prevention Bureau formally conveys its decision to disconnect services.

  • Right to Appeal
You have the right to appeal a violation notice if you believe the fire official's decision was based on an
incorrect interpretation of the code or if the code's provisions do not fully apply.

    How to Appeal
    • The owner or occupant of the building or premises may appeal to the fire chief within three days. The fire chief or his designee shall review the order within five business days and advise the owner or occupant of a decision thereon.

    • The owner or occupant of the building or premises may appeal to the City of St. George hearing officer within three days. The hearing officer will notify the owner or occupant as the applicable ordinance directs.

    • The appeal must be submitted in writing. It should specify which specific code, ordinance, or law has been misinterpreted, explain why the code, ordinance, or law is not applicable, or indicate what alternative regulations should apply.
