LiboRisk Global Ambassador Event Waiver & Release of Liability
For Participant Involvement in Volunteer-Led Global Gatherings
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY – THIS IS A LEGALLY BINDING AGREEMENT. BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS EVENT, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND ACCEPT ALL TERMS BELOW.
1. Acknowledgment of Risk
I understand and acknowledge that participation in a LiboRisk-affiliated event—whether in the United States or internationally—may include activities such as hiking, fitness, recreation, swimming, cultural immersion, informal travel excursions, social gatherings, and/or community-based events, which carry inherent risks. These risks include, but are not limited to:
Physical injuries (e.g., sprains, broken bones, dehydration)
Illness or allergic reactions
Emotional stress or psychological discomfort
Natural disasters or severe weather
Accidents involving transportation or equipment
Unexpected encounters with wildlife, strangers, or hazardous terrain
I fully understand that LiboRisk Ambassadors are volunteers who have received minimal formal training in leading experiences or managing emergencies. While they have received basic preparation materials from LiboRisk, they are not certified in medical or safety response and are not responsible for my individual safety or health outcomes. I acknowledge that these risks cannot be entirely eliminated, and that I am voluntarily assuming them.
2. Voluntary Participation & Personal Responsibility
My participation is voluntary, and I am solely responsible for my own decision to join the activity. I confirm that:
I am in good health and capable of safely participating.
I will not engage in any activity that I am uncomfortable with or unprepared for.
I will inform the ambassador or others in the group if I have any relevant medical conditions, allergies, or limitations.
I will follow local laws, cultural expectations, and common-sense safety precautions.
3. Release of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I agree to WAIVE, RELEASE, INDEMNIFY, AND HOLD HARMLESS LiboRisk, its parent organization, affiliates, employees, volunteers (including ambassadors), contractors, partners, and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all claims or liability for:
Personal injury, illness, or death
Property loss, theft, or damage
Emotional or psychological injury
Misunderstandings, disputes, or misconduct by other participants or third parties
Any incidents caused by my own negligence, the negligence of others, or circumstances outside anyone’s control
This release applies whether the event occurs in a city, rural environment, international destination, wilderness setting, or any other venue.
4. Crisis or Emergency Response
In case of a medical, emotional, or logistical emergency, I understand that:
Ambassadors are not emergency responders.
They may be able to assist with basic decision-making, calling for help, or coordinating transportation.
In remote or foreign environments, professional emergency services may be delayed or unavailable.
It is my responsibility to carry any personal medications or first aid needs.
I acknowledge that I am responsible for securing my own travel insurance or evacuation plan if I am concerned about emergencies abroad.
5. Waiver of Unknown Claims (Global & California)
Where applicable, I voluntarily waive any rights under laws similar to California Civil Code Section 1542, which states:
“A general release does not extend to claims which the creditor does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor…”
I understand that this means I waive both known and unknown claims related to this event.
6. Media Release
I grant LiboRisk and its representatives the right to record and use my image, voice, name, and likeness through photos, video, or audio captured during the event. I understand this content may be used for marketing, education, storytelling, or community-building purposes across social media, websites, promotional materials, and future events, globally and in perpetuity.
I waive any right to compensation, royalties, or approval, and release all claims related to this use.
7. Code of Conduct
As a participant, I agree to:
Treat all individuals with respect, regardless of background, gender, race, or belief
Refrain from harassment, bullying, or discriminatory behavior
Follow any reasonable instructions or boundaries set by the ambassador
Refrain from unlawful activity or possession of illegal substances
Abstain from disruptive behavior that could compromise the safety or wellbeing of others
Violation of this code may result in my immediate removal from the event without refund or future participation rights.
8. Intellectual Property & Use of Materials
All LiboRisk logos, guides, content, and materials remain the intellectual property of LiboRisk. I will not copy, reproduce, or use LiboRisk content for commercial purposes without permission.
9. Indemnification
I agree to defend and indemnify the Released Parties against any third-party claims or damages that arise from:
My own actions, negligence, or misconduct
My violation of local laws, customs, or group guidelines
My breach of any part of this waiver
10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California, regardless of where the event takes place. Any disputes shall first be resolved in good faith; if unresolved, binding arbitration will be conducted in San Diego County, California.
11. Severability
If any portion of this agreement is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force.
