WHO ARE WE?
Elite Family is a dance company that brings a unique blend of experiences for dancers looking to train, grow, and perform/compete in a team oriented setting. We're the team that pushes for excellence in our artistry. We're the team that enjoys dance drills and working out to help enhance our vision and keep our performative edge. We're the team that wants to connect with eachother because dance is more than just movement.

Led by Shawn Vue and Nancy Xiong, our leadership boasts over decades of combined experience in teaching/coaching thousands of dancers around the midwest to grow within Hip Hop culture, street, club, and funkstyles. We are passionate mentors dedicated to elevating dancers through training, freestyle, and performances. Our focus extends beyond technical skills, as we aim to nurture growth and empower each dancer to reach their full potential.

WHAT IS THIS?
This is the season 12 auditions to join the competitive performance team of Elite Family Dance Company.

WHAT DOES THE SEASON COMPRISE OF?
This season is split into two parts. The first part focuses on competitive performance. We have several performances in Minnesota as well as one out of state performance that we have to travel for. When the first part is close to completion, current season 12 dancers may choose to opt in for part two. To support accessibility, we will be hosting a second audition for the public before starting the second part of the year. There will still be performances being done during the second part however the second part focuses on more creative, artistic, and theatric approach to performance. This leads up to the final production to end off season 12. Overall, as dancers, we learn, train, and build ourselves to be the best we can be in season 12.

COST
$5 to register to audition

AGE RESTRICTION
This is an 18+ team.
If you are 17 and turning 18 by APRIL 2025, you may register to audition with your legal parent/guardian approve and signature.

REHEARSAL INFO
February 2026 to July 2026
1) Weekly practice one | Sundays from 10am to 1pm
2) Weekly practice two | Fridays from 7pm to 9pm

NOTES
*Changes/cancellations to Sunday and Friday rehearsals will be released monthly so dancers can prep ahead.
*Additional rehearsals will be scheduled in advance.
*More rehearsal time will be added based on performances.
*Select Sunday or Friday rehearsals will be cancelled as needed, with notice given ASAP.

MONTHLY TUITION
$50 a month

AUDITION CONTENTS
1) Warm up, drills, and freestyles
2) One choreography piece taught by director Shawn Vue
3) Group filming

AUDITION SELECTION JUDGING PROCESS
1) Your participation in pre-audition workshop on January 19th, 2026 will be considered in the judging process.
2) Your answers to the online interview questions will be used in the judging process.
3) Your participation on audition day from specifically 10:00AM to 1:00PM will be used in the judging process.
4) Results of your audition will be given within a 4-day period from the audition date.
5) Feedback of your audition performance and results will not be given.

I understand that participation in the Elite Family Dance Company dance auditions involves inherent risks, including the possibility of injury, illness, or death. I hereby release Elite Family Dance Company LLC, their officers, directors, employees, volunteers, agents, and representatives from any liability arising from my participation.
