Is the Basic Release the right choice for your music?
Our Basic Release is designed for artists who want a simple, no-cost way to release a single track. This option allows one artist and one track only, and to be eligible you must already have active Spotify and Apple Music artist profiles in place prior to submission.
It’s important to understand that the Basic Release comes with significant limitations. Your track will not be distributed to all digital platforms and will not be available on major download stores such as Beatport, Apple Music, Amazon, or similar services. Distribution under the Basic Release is limited primarily to selected streaming platforms, which can restrict both reach and revenue potential.
While the Basic Release is free of charge, it may not provide the level of exposure required to grow your audience effectively. Spotify remains the world’s leading music streaming platform, and playlists are one of the most powerful tools for gaining traction. With approximately 100,000 new songs being uploaded to Spotify every single day, competition is extremely high. Without playlist pitching, data insights, or promotional support, even high-quality tracks can struggle to gain visibility—especially for emerging or independent artists.
Because of these challenges, 75% of our artists choose to upgrade to a Pro Release. The Pro Release offers broader distribution, improved release scheduling, and access to valuable data and industry insights that help artists connect with playlists, curators, and new listeners. These tools significantly increase the likelihood of your music being discovered and streamed at scale.
For artists who want to maximise exposure while avoiding the time-consuming process of emailing curators and pitching manually, 90% of our artists opt for the Pro Release with Playlist Promotion. This option is designed to actively drive streams to your track by placing it in front of the right audiences, helping your release gain momentum from day one.
