Audition Information for LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS

Please fill out the audition form below. Complete the form by scheduling your audition slot.

Beginning with the 2025-2026 season, ALL auditions will move to 30-minute time slots of ten people or less.

Performers are asked to arrive 10 minutes before their time slot.

Auditions are closed, which means only those auditioning may be in the house. Anyone who is not signed up for the audition in that particular time slot is to remain in the lobby until the audition process is finished.

Auditions are appointment only; you must schedule your appointment below to finalize this audition form and secure your spot. 

Show Dates: October 17-26, 2025

Mandatory Dates: October 11-12 (Q2Q), October 13 -16 (Tech Week), October 17-26 (Show Dates/Pick Up). Availability throughout the rehearsal process may affect casting.

Location: 238 S. Clay Street, Gastonia NC, 28052. Parking is adjacent to the building.

Show Rating: PG-13 (adult language/content, horror, violence)

This show requires 10+ performers (ages 16+) of all race, sex, gender, sexuality, nationality, and experience level. The casting team is looking for a diverse group of performers across the board. 

CONFLICTS for rehearsals of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS

Please note that current rehearsal dates are tentative and may change. Not all performers will be called for every single rehearsal and that will be noted in the finalized calendar given out at the first rehearsal. 

Please note that amount of conflicts and/or certain conflict dates may affect casting.

 

Tentative Rehearsal Dates: Mondays - Fridays, August 25-October 26, 2025 from 7-9pm

Mandatory Dates: October 11-12 (Q2Q), October 13 -16 (Tech Week), October 17-26 (Show Dates/Pick Up). 

AVAILABLE ROLES for LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS

At this time, all roles are available to be cast. 

SEYMOUR KRELBORN: Male presenting. Socially awkward, clumsy and insecure, Seymour is still a genuine kind of guy who wants to do the right thing, often to his own detriment. Must have excellent comedic timing. 

Age range: 20-40

Vocal Range: G4-A2 (tenor/baritenor)

Dance Ability: Standard dance ability

 

AUDREY: Female presenting. What she has in poor self-worth and even poorer education, Audrey makes up with bombshell great looks, sincerity and earnestness. Beautiful and sweet, she is the (secret) love of Seymour's life. 

Age Range: 20-35

Vocal Range: D5-G#3 (alto/mezzo with belt)

Dance Ability: Standard dance ability

 

MR. MUSHNIK: Male presenting. The seasoned boss of the downtown flower shop on the Eastside, Mr. Mushnik is the embodiment of profits-driven and manipulative, which he often uses against his employee, Seymour. Strong New York accent preferred. 

Age Range: 40s+

Vocal Range: F4-G2 (baritone/bass)

Dance Ability: Standard dance ability

 

ORIN SCRIVELLO: Male presenting. Abusive, delusional, and highly charismatic, Orin is a dentist and Audrey's loser boyfriend. This character can be stand alone or play multiple roles, but should have physical and verbal comedic timing.

Age Range: 20-40

Vocal Range: G4-G2 (baritone)

Dance Ability: Standard - Experienced dance ability

 

CHIFFON, CRYSTAL & RONETTE: female presenting. Sometimes presenting as the 'street urchins', sometimes the narrating Greek chorus, these three ladies are the only ones who - somehow - seem to have a grasp of reality. While not mandatory, these characters are typically and preferably performed by BIPOC actresses.

Age Range: 20s+

Vocal Range: F5-Ab3 (mezzo)

Dance Ability: Standard - Experienced dance ability. These performers will dance the most.

 

AUDREY II (The Plant) - male or female presenting. The voice and eventual personification of the alien, man-eating plant monster must command a presence with a sultry, jazzy voice. This performer must be comfortable performing in some form of 'drag' and may have some puppeting. 

Age Range: 20s+

Vocal Range: Male - G4-F2 (baritone/bass) Female - Eb5-F3 (alto with a belt)

Dance Ability: Minimal Dance Ability

 

COMPANY - Company roles can include puppeteers, customers, and various small speaking roles.

Age range: 16+

Vocal Range: All
