Existing safety alert systems often require users to take some sort of action to get help: pushing a panic button, making a phone call, etc. However, in certain types of events, users may be unable to get to their safety device.
A smartphone application is being developed that can mitigate this risk by:
- Allowing users to schedule easy, recurring check-ins by pressing a button on the phone. If the user misses a check-in and does not respond to a follow-up, their care circle can be alerted automatically.
- Using AI to detect when a user is significantly outside of their routine by noticing changes in how their device is being used. If the user is not using their device or moving in a way that is out of character for them and does not respond to a follow-up, their care circle can be alerted automatically.
