    Angela Dominguez Music Enrichment Scholarship - 2025
  • SCHOLARSHIP HISTORY:

    Starting in 2019, the UTSA Summer Band Institute launched a scholarship in the name of Anegla Dominguez in recognition of her outstanding service to UTSA Alumni programs and our summer music camps. This scholarship will be awarded to one deserving middle school camper. 

    Mrs. Dominguez began band directing at Nimitz Middle School in North East ISD in the fall of 2001. She served as Assistant Band Director at Nimitz for three years. She opened Metzger Middle School in Judson ISD in the summer of 2003 as the Assistant Band Director and was named Director of Bands at Metzger in 2004. She came to Northside ISD in 2006 opening Jefferson Middle School. She served as Assistant Band Director at Jefferson and was named the Director of Bands in 2014. With almost 400 students in the program, Jefferson Middle School currently has the largest band student enrollment of any middle school in Northside ISD. The Jefferson Middle School Bands have consistently earned superior ratings at UIL since its opening. The program takes great pride in teaching to the individual student enjoying their musical experience to the fullest.

    Mrs. Dominguez loves keeping in touch with her students that have moved on to high school and college and sharing in their continued musical journey.

    This scholarship is designed to assist outstanding young musicians who share a strong passion for music.

    SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE:

    All applications must be submitted by Friday, May 2nd by 11:59pm. Any applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered. An official decision will be made by May 18th, 2025.
